Jacob's POV:
I just dropped Mallory off from school and made my way into town to pick up some flowers for our date. I had a special night planned and wanted it to go smoothly. I just hope I don't mess this up.

Mallory's POV:
Once I got home from school, I ran upstairs to get ready for my date with Jacob. I have waited years for this very moment. He had always been so sweet and caring. He always knew what to say even in the hardest moments. He had been my best friend since birth pretty much. Our dads were so close, I just don't want this date to go badly and ruin everything we have going already.

Bella's POV:
I parked my truck in the yard and headed inside only to hear my father yelling at a tv over some sports game. I went into the kitchen, fixed a glass of water, and then went upstairs to see what Mallory is up to. I knocked on the door and went in. She was putting on makeup and curling her hair.
"What's all this for?" I asked hesitantly.
"JACOB ASKED ME ON A DATE!" She exclaimed.
"Finally! It's taken him long enough." I said with a chuckle.
"Is this outfit okay?" She asked as she held up a dark red blouse with ripped jeans. It would make her look amazing.
"Yes, it'll look great." I said.
"I'm about ready, all I have to do is change." She said.
As soon as she said that, I heard the front door creek and heard Charlie talking with someone. I looked out the window only to see a motorcycle. I assumed it was Jacob's and just headed downstairs. Sure enough it was him. He and Charlie were talking about the game, I don't know all the technical terms. Jake looked at me asked, "Where's Mallory at?"
I replied, "She's about ready, just getting dressed."

Charlie's POV:
I turned around and watched my youngest daughter walk down the stairs. She didn't seem like a little girl anymore, but a woman. I know she is still in high school but she will always be my little girl.
"Now you too I expect you both back here by 11:30." I said.
"Yes sir." They both replied.
"Don't forget I'm a cop, Jake." I said sarcastically and he just laughed. I watched Jake open the door for her and then heard his bike start up. Her first date. I wonder how it will go.

Jacob's POV:
I shut the door of the Swan's house and followed Mallory to my bike. I put a helmet on her head and she just smiled. She had on red lip gloss which made her smile more infectious. She's so gorgeous, I can't believe she will be my girlfriend soon. I got on the bike and we drove to the diner, I ordered something to go and then I took her to our favorite hangout spot, the beach. I had Sam and Paul setup a picnic blanket for us and some other things you would see at a picnic. When we arrived Mallory couldn't stop smiling. She said, "You did all of this for me?"
"Of course. You're my best friend, why wouldn't I." I replied as I kissed her cheek.

Mallory's POV:
JACOB JUST KISSED MY CHEEK!
I think I know what is about to happen. Jacob and I sat down to eat. We talked while we ate, after we ate with threw a football around like we do with Paul and Sam, went in the water, and then finally took a break and sat down. I was laying on Jacob's lap. I was so comfortable and safe I nearly fell asleep till I heard his smooth voice speak, "Mallory. I have wanted to do this for a long time, but I'm not sure how you feel, will you be my girlfriend?"
I sat up, stared at him, and smiled. All I could do was kiss him, when I pulled away he smiled and said, "I take that as a yes."
I giggled and smiled and then kissed him again. We laid on the picnic blanket looking at the stars until it was time to leave. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. When Jacob took me home he walked me inside and spoke to Charlie. He gave me a hug goodbye and said he would see me tomorrow.

Charlie's POV:
"So, how was your date?" I asked.
"Amazing. We got dinner from the diner to go and brought it to the beach where he had a picnic set up!" She couldn't stop grinning.
"So did Jake ask you anything in particular like maybe-"
"Yes! He asked me to be his girlfriend, I have waited so long for this dad!" She cut me off but it was worth it see her this happy. I have always wanted those two kids to get together and now they are!
"I'm glad! He had spoke to me a little while back about this whole scheme of his, just asking for my approval and you know me, I love the kid so it was an easy yes." I replied.
She ran up to me and gave me a tight hug like when she was little.
"This has been the best day ever. I love you dad, and thank you for being friends with Billy because if not I would have never met Jake!"
I kissed the topped of head and she ran up stairs giddy like a kid. I'm so proud of her.

Bella's POV:
I heard commotion on the stairway and in the hallway. My bedroom door bursted open, well my shared bedroom. It was Mallory. She was grinning ear to ear, I wonder why.
"Whatcha smiling about?" I asked.
She sat down on her bed and took her shoes off. She was untying the laces as she replied, "Jacob and I kissed, and even better, he asked me to be his girlfriend!"
I smiled. Mallory deserved this, she had been waiting on Jake to ask her out since they were 9.
"Yay! Congrats, took him long enough!" I chucked and so did she. She walked into the bathroom and started talking as she took her makeup off.
"Jake said, I'll see you tomorrow when he left. I think we're going to watch the game tomorrow at his place if you wanna come."
"I don't know," I replied hesitantly, "I have homework I need to catch up on, and-"
"Come ON. It'll be fun, plus there will be cute boys there."
As much as I wanted to see cute boys, my mind couldn't stop thinking about Edward. Why was he so mysterious, did he think I smelled, and many other things flooded my brain about him.

Mallory's POV:
I watched Bella gaze off when I had just asked her a question, she doesn't do that often so I know something is up. I turned off the bathroom light and went back to our room. I tried to find my pj's and got dressed.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"Nothing."
"Come on now, I know when something is up." I replied.
"Okay, well there's this guy, well family I guess."
"The Cullens?" I asked.
"Yes how did you-"
"I know girls from Forks that never shut up about them, that and dad is cool with Dr. Cullen. I have met him before. Is this about Edward?"
"Yes. He doesn't speak to me and he just acts very odd."
"Don't take it personally, but he just doesn't talk all that much. His father told dad about it one day when I was with him. He asked me if we could hangout and I did but he hardly talked to me, so I left to go to Jake's."
"Hmmm. Maybe I could get him to talk, it would just take time."
"That's it," I replied, "You're going with me to Jake's tomorrow and you are going to talk to the boys. End. Of. Story." I turned off my lamp and went to bed, eagerly awaiting tomorrow to see my boyfriend.
