I'll always be there for you

Today is a special day in the memories of the young vibrant kid who experienced all the love in this world. It is his birthday, and surprisingly he received numerous gifts and wishes from his family and friends.

The cheerful birthday boy decided to go camping this year on the top of the city's most favorite hill and it is quite a surprise for two 18-year old's to perfectly set up a camp. They catch some air and sit in front of a bonfire.

"Mingi, isn't the sky too beautiful today?" The boy asks his friend, staring up at the dark sky illuminated with millions of sparkling objects. He then glances at his friend expecting an answer.

"It's beautiful every night. You just don't look at it." His friend, Mingi states unpacking the food supplies and a frown appears on Yunho's face. "You're mean."

"So... what are your plans?" Mingi questions going inside the tent to get to something. "Let's have our dinner first then think about it later." Yunho is starving as they climbed a long way up and haven't eaten anything since. They get their boxes of ramen and get some meat grilled up as appetizers. The boys share some decade old memories which only brings smiles to their faces and washes away any doubt or worry.

Soon the sky gets more darker and the hour clock on their wrist watches hits 12, they eventually decide to seek shelter in the tents. As soon as their heads hit the pillow, the boys drift off into a deep slumber. Yunho glances at his best friend one last time before closing his eyes again.

People say some strangers are meant to walk into your life and when you eventually develop a strong bond with them, it hurts to let go. When you see them suffer, your heart breaks down and tears brim in your eyes.

Yunho and Mingi's relationship is somewhat similar. They are a source of happiness for each other. Even when they suck at expressing their feelings, they understand each other perfectly. Everyone around them despises their friendship as it is pure one.

Everything is beautiful and ethereal but I'm scared for an unknown reason. What if he leaves me? What if I become alone again? What if people only pretend to like me because I'm his friend? What if I hurt him and things go bad?

Worries fill me up and I drown in them, breathless, voiceless as my limbs go numb and I give up on trying to survive. I gasp feeling the shortness of breath and my body jerks up waking up from a realistic dream.

I stare at Yunho's sleeping figure. His snores make me giggle and he looks cute drooling. He is a person I've come to treasure the most in my life. He is someone with whom every moment feels like an eternity and with him I can forget all of my worries and be at peace.

The fear of losing Yun makes my heart ache and it's the only thing I worry about these days. It doesn't let me sleep yet the growing distance between us makes me fear about the future of our friendship.

"Min-ah.... What happened? Why are you awake?" Yunho's rough voice pulls me out of my trance. I guess my weeping woke him up. "Nothing. Just got a bit emotional."

"And why is that?" I hug Yunho with no signs of letting go. Deep down my heart is afraid, that, this could be our last moment together. My tears wet his shoulder but Yunho doesn't mind it. He rubs my back and whispers sweet nothings to calm me down.

"I know we haven't been able to spend time together, but that doesn't mean I will strand you alone in this harsh world, min. You mean a lot to me, and losing you is the thing I fear the most." His words oddly comfort me and encourage my eyes to flood.

"Yunho, I might sound crazy but I've lost you more than 10 times in my dreams now. They just make me-" I choke on my last words and these damn tears just don't stop.

"It's okay min. I'm here for you. I'll always be here for you and with you."

"Promise?"

"Promise."
