The surroundings are blurry in your eyes as your breath hitches while tears flow down your eyes endlessly and your heart aches, a feeling you are very familiar with. You curl against the headboard of your bed, covering your trembling body under the warmth of the blanket as you ignore your ringing phone. It must be your best friend because you have been avoiding all of his texts and calls of concern towards your deteriorating state of mind. It has been a while since you've ended up in this position, unaware of how it all started in the first place.
To your surprise, a pair of hands pull you into their warm embrace. Their scent calms you down as you listen to the familiar rhythm of their heart. You lift your head buried in their chest to glance at the person holding you. It is your dear soulmate, your Mingi here to save you from the darkness. His delicate fingers wipe off the tears streaming down your cheeks as he pulls you closer, planting a kiss on your forehead while he rubs your back in hope of calming you down.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm here for you."
You tremble in his hold, and he asks if you are, only to lay you down on the bed as he rests your head on his chest while you both lie tangled under the sheets. Everything about him is calming, from his bright smile to his selfless personality to the heartbeat you hear as you drape your arm around his waist, nudging closer into his neck. The faint scent of vanilla brushes your nose, and you wonder if he is wearing the perfume you bought him earlier this year.
"Let's watch something? It'll help brighten your mood."
And... that's how you both ended up watching We Bare Bears while cuddling on your couch in the living room. You never regretted the time you spent with him, nor even a single moment. He has always been there for you, either to save you from yourself or help you with stuff you both were bad at, like cooking. Your eyes lock themselves on his pretty side view, and your heart starts to question what you had done to even deserve this angel? Luckily, the angel himself answers your question.
