The sky is painted in your favourite colours, red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The very colours that surround your friends as you watch them play around in the campus grounds. Three joyful souls in their uniforms run around as they try to pour water over each other.
As the sun turns a darker shade, you call the boys, asking them to stand together for a picture. They pose for the picture, hands sliding onto each other's shoulders, as they look at the turquoise coloured Polaroid camera resting between your hands. Your finger presses on the button and the shutter clicks, picturing a moment on the film.
Placing the camera on the bleacher, you turn on the timer before rushing to the boys and standing beside them. The shutter clicks and you all rush to see how it turned out. It's cute and as always the familiar colours surround you all.
The next morning, as students chatter in the corridors and classrooms during the recess, you share a lot of words with your friends. It is much of a gossip session rather than a conversation to catch up with recent events.
It turns into a bullying session as the boys pursue you to confess your feelings to the boy you fancy, but your anxious heart doesn't agree with the decision, as it fears things might turn bitter between you and Mingi, the pretty boy.
You turn around away from your friends, having enough of them explaining how handsome he is, with everyone getting suspicious when Yunho mentions Mingi is good at everything. He hangs out with the boy almost every day in the name of 'gathering tea to help my bestie get laid'.
You face the boy you fancy, sitting in front of you, and he gives you a sweet smile, at which your heart starts beating a little harder against the cavity of your chest. Butterflies swirl around in your stomach as his slender fingers graze against the silver star bracelet tied around your wrist.
"It's pretty......" he mumbles, the tip of fingers tracing out the shape of the silver star. You finish the sentence for him by adding in, "just like you.", as you smile to yourself. You could hear Wooyoungie's faint happy scream in the background, and you guess they are watching your interaction with your crush.
His eyes adoring your bracelet glance up as he lifts his chin, looking at you in confusion. A shade of red spreads across your cheeks as they warm up under his gaze. He breaks into a laugh, flashing his teeth. Casual flirting between classmates is common anyway.
Taking in a deep breath and gathering all of your emotional strength, you reach out for something in your coat packet and place the object on your desk. It is a box, a little red square box, the size of your pencil case.
Mingi's gaze shifts between the box and your face as he questions your intention behind the gift. He glances up at you, "Is this mine?" he says, his stare longing for a bit as if asking your permission as he latches his fingers on the box to unveil the content hidden inside it.
"Go ahead, open it." you whisper and he opens the box as he pouts, his pretty pink lips puckering up.
It stores a pretty silver bracelet similar to yours with the little dangling silver stars. He gleams up in joy as he stares at the present, his lips curving up into a wide smile.
"Thank you." he shyly says. "There's more, pretty boy." you add, pointing at the cream coloured card with the drawing of a purple lilac at the front of the box. He slips out a 'sorry' as his pale fingers pick up the card and open it. His eyes take their time to read the words written on the card, and then they land upon you again.
"Y/n... you really think I'm pretty." He masks the emotions behind his words, an attempt to conceal your cute confession in the class full of fellow students.
You nod at his question, and bring forward your hand to bop his nose. He looks at you in disbelief, eyes filled with love, as he then proceeds to copy your action and chuckles at his childishness.
Your favourite hue of sunset colours surround him as the following words slip off his lips and reach your ears, "I think you're pretty too. The prettiest, to be accurate." Your heart beats in an erratic rhythm as your best friends break into a cheer behind you. It's a dream, isn't it? Everything is too pretty to be true.
The moment is a core memory as it replays every few minutes, flaring up your cheeks. Your phone rings with a familiar name, 'my love' which is your beloved boyfriend and you answer his call. He checks up on you, asking if you had a good rest on the weekend, then asks you to come downstairs for him.
Upon descending the stairs from your bedroom into the living room and walking out the door, you sight the keeper of your heart seated on his motorcycle. He smirks in your direction, checking you out as your eyes don't dare to meet his brown ones. He is dressed in black from head to toe, including his leather jacket, pants and the gloves covering his beautiful hands.
"Good evening, pretty." he says, and your heart still is not used to his deep voice and his words even when you've heard them a hundred times as it races again, hammering against your chest. He leans against the vehicle as he drapes his arm around your waist, pulling your body closer and placing a kiss on your lips.
When you glance at the pair beside you, he introduces them. "These are my friends, Wooyoung and Yeonjun." The Oreo haired boy waves in joy as the other leans against a similar motorcycle scrolling through his phone, ignoring your existence. You wave back at the boy and he returns you a smile before pulling out a chocolate bar and handing it to you.
"Now hop on, we don't have much time." You grab the helmet he gives you and hop onto the motorcycle, as he then turns around to help you with the helmet. Mingi starts the engine and it roars, the vibrations travelling under your skin. You wrap your arms around his waist, holding into his figure for your dear life as you ride away.
Soon you are at the city outskirts and the fresh air hits your face, relaxing your muscles. Green landscapes roll by you as he increases the speed, smoothly turning at the curves, and your heart does nothing but fall harder for him. From the rearview mirror you could see his friends turning to the right as they separated from you and you rode away, as he takes you to a place much lusher with colours, overseeing the horizon.
