Hirami leaned in as I moved out of the way but her lips grazed my cheek, and she fell forwards. She looked up at me and her face flushed red, clearly embarrassed . Her eyes stared into mine and she quickly jumped up and started apologizing "I'm so sorry!! Really! I thought you felt the same way, I really am sorry!" she hid her face in her hands and I just stared at her not knowing how to react, anger, forgiveness, or weirded out. I went with being blunt. "You really shouldn't assume how people feel you know." I said crossing my arms and raising an eyebrow "I know I know!! I don't know what got into me!" she yelled into her hands, muffling her voice. I could tell she was on the verge of tears. I sighed "Ok just don't assume how I feel next time, about anything." I told her with an annoyed tone, then I walked back into the council room.
As I walked inside Midari cocked an eyebrow "What was that about? Don't you like her?" She asked genuinely confused "I think what happened was pretty self explanatory, and we never speak of this again. Got that?" If looks could kill, Midari would be long gone. "Yeah yeah ok" She rolled her eyes and sat back in her seat "If you ask me, that was pretty funny nyahahaha, she's head over heels for you!" Runa was laughing like crazy and I just rolled my eyes and sat down next to her, getting my switch from my bag. Runa eyed my switch obviously wanting to see what I played so I asked "Wanna play Smash bros?" I turned my head towards her "Nyahahaha, of course but have you seen me in action? No one I've played with has ever beat me!" She handed me a controller from her switch, and selected Kirby, I didn't know who to pick so I just picked random, my go to when I don't know what to do. We decided to have random generated maps so we couldn't choose maps we were incredibly good at. After a few rounds Runa had one about 4 and I won 3, and she was REALLY good. "Hm you are actually better than everyone else I played with, but I'm still superior. Nyahahaha" She laughed and I just gave my controller back, rolling my eyes.
Time skip
I was walking back to the council room having finished my last class of the day, but I still had two free periods left so I decided to spend them in the council room. The doors creaked as I opened them and I saw a few people sitting down, arguing. They all quieted down as I walked in, and I raised an eyebrow "Y/n! You're my partner now" Runa said waving me over to her "For what-" She hit her forehead with her palm "Didn't you hear? Everyone in the school, including us council members are participating in this new idea the pres had, 'partnered gambling' first duo to get 50 wins in a row, wins a million yen (around ten thousand usd), plus all their winnings." Runa tilted her head asking if I was ok with it "Yeah that sounds cool, I guess we're partners now" I sat down in my chair. The president clapped, asking for everyone's attention "Since it would be unfair for me to play with someone very good, I will be playing with a house pet." Her eyes gleamed and everyone looked at her like she was crazy, well she is, but that's besides the point. "But anyways, I forgot to mention this but if a house pet in any pair wins, they get the money, and also their debt will be repaid." The president smirked, knowing the losses the council could take, but it wouldn't make a dent, it's also pretty obvious she has faith in someone from the council winning, which will happen, hopefully.
Kaede stood up, his face looked like it always did, no expression. Completely monotone. "This won't make any debt into our council funds, but won't doing this show weakness? That we are not as firm as they think we are?" He looked into Kirari's eyes, obviously thinking she didn't think of that. "Oh come on, you think that'll show we are weak? Everyone fears us. One step out of line and we could completely demolish their reputation. Are you seriously that thickheaded?" I asked Kaede, smirking "Nyahahaha, finally someone mentioned it." Runa laughed at Kaede unwrapping another lollipop and sticking it in her mouth. Kaede stared into my eyes, glaring at me, he thinks he's so intimidating. (a/n: I had the urge to make y/n say "shiver me timbers") I just put my hand over my mouth and laughed. "If you really wanna look so smart and strong, don't always challenge the president. At least do it some day and don't be so scared, if you're really gonna doubt everything she does." I look at Kaede, the corners of my lips upturned, forming a smile. As long as he's still on the council, I'm going to wreck him. B/f/n was so stupid to have an official match with this child, and she didn't even win? "I second that" Midari raised her hand, her eyes showed she was fighting back a laugh, Yumemi raised her hand too, probably just because she hadn't liked him from the start. "I third that" She didn't manage to hold back her laugh so she giggled uncontrollably. Kaede was grinding his teeth, and I couldn't hold back. I laughed along with Yumemi, Runa joining in at some point.
As the meeting came to an end, I chose to go walk around the school, see if anyone was being stupid. The news of me becoming part of the council spread fast, but not everyone knew. As I was walking past the staircase near the entrance, I saw a group of three boys laughing arrogantly, I rolled my eyes. Apparently one of them noticed "HEY WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT" I just laughed in his face, walking past. When I was a bit past them I felt a hand wrap around my arm, I turned my head around to see the infamous jun kiwatari, I raised an eyebrow at him "Are you going to let go of me?" I asked him, tilting my head "How about we have a little bit of fun first..." I'm not dumb I know what he's implying, "sorry I'm not interested in ugly people, much less people that have no common knowledge", I smirked at him. "You bitch!! Do you know who I am?!" I turned my whole body towards him, releasing my arm and pointing at his chest with my index finger "No, I don't think you know who I am."
