The gems explained who and what they were to (Y/N). They're extraterrestrial beings that came to earth several millennia ago. They became Earth's self-proclaimed protectors and fought monsters. This was too much information. At this point (Y/N) couldn't take it. He put his left hand in his mouth and bit down on it hard. Pain shot through his hand as the copper taste of blood entered his mouth. Everyone screamed in shock.

"What the heck dude?"

"What?"

"Oh my goodness"

"What did you do that for?"

"What has gotten into you (Y/N)?"

"Sorry, I just had to make sure I wasn't having some screwed up fever dream" (Y/N) said as he removed his hand "And it's also clear that you know nothing about stands either, or how can see them"

"You did say you wanted to know," said Steven "I'll get you a bandaid"

"Wait a moment," Pearl said "Can't you just use your stand to heal yourself as you did with me?"

"That would be great wouldn't it, but no, it can't" Sighed (Y/N) visibly disappointed at this fact. "Crazy Diamond can't actually heal me,"

This fact was an unfortunate truth and drawback to his stand. Any clothes (Y/N) wore could be repaired, and any accessories that he had could be fixed. However, if any part of his own body was damaged, (Y/N) was unable to heal it. 

"Where did you get Crazy Diamond anyway?" asked Amethyst.

"It's kind of hard to explain," Said (Y/N) "But I'll try"

(Y/N) took a deep breath and sat on Steven's couch as everyone else gathered around him. "Last year, I was studying late into the night for my midterms. It was past midnight, but knowing my older brother, he'd scold me for not studying hard enough" Began (Y/N) "I think I fell asleep at one point because one moment I was at my desk and the next I'm floating in space. Then I saw this guy with a pompadour, I couldn't make out any other distinctive features. But I heard him tell me this"

"My universe is being reset. I don't know what will happen to me or where I'll end up. So before I go I want to give you something that will change your life forever"

"Then he takes out this bow and arrow and shoots me in the neck. It was painful but at the same time, exhilarating. I didn't know if I was going to make it. Then he tells me what he did"

"I just gave you a stand, my stand. It's a physical manifestation of the soul, brought out by your fighting spirit. All stands have at least one supernatural ability that makes them special. Mine has the ability to restore something to its original state. It's called Crazy Diamond, and I think it will suit you just fine. Take care of it for me okay?"

"After that, I woke up, and just chalked it up as some weird dream due to lack of sleep, but during my exam that, I ripped my paper after erasing an answer with too much force, and when I tried to examine the tear it began to fix itself after I touched it, and I've been able to restore things ever since"

When (Y/N) finished his story he looked at his audience to see their reactions. All of them had the same puzzled face. They didn't know what to make of someone that got powers from some kind of study-induced dream. After a minute that seemed like an hour, Garnet broke the silence. "Did you recognize the man who shot you in your dream?" She asked.
