*Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC*
t/w: I just want to note these next chapters come from the movie Infinity War so it goes without saying major violence and angst coming.
a/n: I am so sorry this is late. I have been in Disney and just wasn't on my computer at all. Also if you read promises that will be no later than tomorrow. I still just need to edit it.
The past 3 months have been perfect. I switched every week between the Avengers campus and the Finalizer with Ben. And he came here at least once a month, leaving Vicrul in charge while he was gone. We had figured it out and I was happy.
Right now I was back in New York. Tony, Pepper, and I had decided to head into the city to go for a walk/run. Tony was currently talking about a dream he had where he and Pepper had a kid. It was heartwarming. I liked the idea of having a little sibling. Well, another because I did have Peter.
Pepper was telling him not but in a true Tony fashion, he was saying how real it was.
"If you want to have a kid you wouldn't have done that." She had while tapping on the Arc reactor.
"I mean she has a point dad. You had the surgery. It's not as needed. And as much as I would love another little sibling as long as we are a part of the Avengers there will always be a threat to us."
Tony argued some more and eventually, Pepper was warming up to the idea. Tony promised no more surprises to Pepper. It was a really endearing moment but given that it's us, of course, the moment was ended when a portal opened and a strange man in a cape came out of it.
"Tony and Ophelia Stark. I am Dr. Stephen Stange. I need you to come with me. Oh and congratulations on the wedding by the way." He said while looking at Tony and Pepper.
"I'm sorry are you giving out tickets or something?" Tony quipped and I just nudged him for being a smartass.
Dr. Strange looked between us before continuing, "We need your help. Look it's not covering selling it to say the fate of the universe is at stake."
I cut in asking, "Who is we?"
Bruce Banner then came strolling out of the portal. Stunning both Tony and me. Tony spoke first, "Bruce."
Bruce didn't say anything. I could see the fear in his eye. He walked up to us pulling us into a hug. Pepper place a gentle hand on his back to calm him.
With that, we didn't hesitate to follow them. Both Tony and I promising to call Pepper on the way home to tell her everything.
We were now sitting in some type of foyer. I was assuming we were in the home of Strange but honestly who knows. We sat there while Wong explained the origin of the stones. I could see Tony was truly trying to understand all the information but was struggling.
"Tell me his name again?" Tony asked.
"Thanos. He's a plague, Tony. He invades planets, he takes what he wants, he wipes out half the population. He sent Loki! The attack on New York, that's him!" Bruce pleads.
I could see it all finally clicked for Tony. "What's our timeline?" He asked clearly going into Iron Man mode.
"No telling. He has the Power and Space Stones, that already makes him the strongest creature in the whole universe! If he gets his hands, on all six Stones, Tony" Bruce says still distraught from the events with Thor and the death of Loki.
"He can destroy life on a scale hitherto undreamt of." Dr. Strange added in.
"Did you seriously just say hitherto undreamt of?" Tony said with the most smart-ass smirk he could.
