Chapter 22: Endgame

As I looked out upon his army I only had one thought pass through my head. I am not scared to die. I never have been but what terrifies me is surviving. I can not do that again. I knew it was either going to be me or Thanos who was brought home in a body bag. There was no other way. 

I got in my stance about to ignite my lightsaber when beside Steve when I heard, "On your left." 

I looked at Steve confused about who said that when I heard it again in my coms, "On your left"

When we turned around a yellow circle started growing and we watched as three figures began to walk out. Then we watched as Sam flew out above the figures we now see are T'Challa, Okoye and, Shuri. 

All of a sudden hundred of portals open up and thousands of allies come out of them to help in the battle. A smile overtakes my face as I watch Bucky, Dr. Strange, and most importantly I see Peter swing through the portal and land on a rock near me. I can't help but cry seeing him again. 

I watch in awe at everything around me. Ships are coming out along with more warriors. I hear the Wakandans yelling out their battle cry. I feel a sense of hope and I can tell Peter's spidey senses can feel it too because he looks at me and smiles. 

But then my worst fear happened. Pepper landed in her iron suit with a determined face. I looked at Tony and we both shared a knowing glance. She didn't fight, never has. Strange brought her here for one reason. One of us is not going to survive. I hope if it came down to it, it was me. Morgan needed her dad. 

I look over at Strange for answers when I hear him ask, "Is that it?" 

To which Wong replied, "Like you wanted more?" 

As the final word left his mouth one more portal opened. Everyone looked confused about who else it would be. I was baffled until Kylo Ren walked out in full armor minus the helmet holding the kyber crystal necklace in his hand. 

He looked at me with a boyish grin and handed me back the necklace. 

Steve looked over at me and whispered, "Whose that?" 

I laughed and gave him a 'really' look. He just laughed and nodded over at Kylo. 

Steve looked around and stated, "Averagers"

After the awe of each other passed we all got into our stances. Helmets came down on my friends. My face screen appeared. I watched Kylo adjust his legs. We both looked at each other and then back out at the field. Our sabers ignited simultaneously. The same exact lightsaber just one red and one white ready for the final battle. 

Mjölnir landed back in Steve's hand and with that, he let out the most determined, "Assemble" 

We all began to run into the battle of our lives. Kylo ran right beside me while Pepper and Tony flew above us. Thanos had let his army charge. It was a head-to-head battle. Each side on the offense. 

With Tony and Pepper hovering above us blasting the flying enemies or the ships. Kylo and I were slicing through the intruders on the ground. It was pretty easy to catch them off guard considering they weren't used to the technology of the lightsabers but none the less it was a challenge.
