🎵Kill My Time — 5 Seconds of Summer

Harry's POV

"Tom's on his way," I speak into the phone, running a frustrated hand through my hair. "He'll take you two to the hotel."

The sky has turned a dark shade of purple as the sunset comes upon us in its full effect, but Miami is as bright as ever.

People line the streets and I'm grateful that it's a bit crowded, where people are too busy to notice me.

"Thanks again, man," Jax sighs in response and I hear Lydia giddily screaming in the background. "We left Kyle there, he started throwing a fit in the diner...how's Ella?"

I watch as Aurelia walks carefully ahead of me, putting one foot in front of the other as she attempts to walk on the cracks on the sidewalk.

She nearly loses her balance, but luckily, her car is right beside her, and she clutches onto its side for support. She giggles to herself, as if the altercation in the diner didn't just happen.

My heart still races in my chest with the audacity of Kyle; I'm definitely not over what just happened in the diner.

The blood was still boiling in my veins — I always get extra defensive when it came to her.

Who the hell did he think he was, speaking to Aurelia that way and yanking her arm?

I was at a loss for words when she flat out admitted that she was with me last night; I could only watch as the words left her lips, the way she looked straight as Kyle as she spoke with no trace of hesitation or emotion for him.

I didn't think she'd flat out tell him like that in front of everyone; then again, I've seen her without a filter when intoxicated so many times.

What was that saying — drunk words are sober thoughts?

He never left my life! You aren't the one that I want, it was always him!

Aurelia's words travel through my mind, playing on an endless loop, like a song on repeat.

She's drunk, that's the only reason she said it. She can't even make sense of her emotions right now.

"Drunk as ever.." I reply to Jax's question. "How's Lydia?" Jax sighs audibly over the phone.

"I'm sure you can hear her screaming behind me," he mumbles. "We'll talk in the morning, you guys be safe."

"You too, mate," I say, ending the phone call. I turn my full attention to Aurelia, who fishes in her little purse for her car keys. She furrows her brows as she searches, her lips pursed in thought.

"Where are they?" Aurelia mumbles to herself, her words slurring a bit with her intoxication. I fight the urge to laugh as she flips the purse over, shaking it.

"Ella!" I gasp, kneeling over to pick up the contents of her purse that she's dropped to the pavement below us. Aurelia only covers her mouth as she laughs, amused by the whole thing.

I shake my head as I pick up her wallet and a small tube of lipgloss from the ground before I reach over, gently prying her fingertips away from the purse, as I reach in the zippered compartment.

She pulls her hand away, as if she got electrocuted, but then she looks at me, a small smile playing on her lips.

"You always keep your keys there," I murmur and her small smiles transforms as she beams at me.

"Thank you," she says quietly, her honey colored eyes staring into mine.

I look away as I nod, hovering behind as I follow her to the passenger side door. As I shut the door behind her, I make my way around the hood of the car to the driver's side and start up the car once I'm inside.
