Selfish Not Selfless

"Well, well. Miketsu-chan did a lot better than expected."

'Miketsu won against Kitora who won against Yoneya before, but because Kodera was there too I thought it would be a worse loose. Kodera even used lead bullet, which as far as I'm aware Miketsu hasn't seen, so I thought it would be a pretty uneven fight. Miketsu is a lot better against snipers than I thought.' Izumi silently thought. He then patted Miketsu on the head and she silently accepted the gesture, slightly blushing. Narasaka was slightly surprised with the result, but he didn't express it as much. Miwa however, wasn't very surprised, for he has seen her fight before. Yoneya grinned towards Kodera, as if to say, "I won. Aren't I awesome." Kodera sighed in return. Izumi then asked "Have you battled with any snipers out of the rank wars?"

"Yes. Chika-cha... agent Amatori allowed my lowly self to have a match with her at Tamakoma."

Izumi hummed in ankowledgement as Miwa squinted his eyes. "Tamakoma..." he mumbled.

"Does that mean you know the white shrimp?"

"White shrimp... If it is about Kuga-senpai then yes."

"Have you fought with him before?"

"No."

"Then we're comrades."  Miketsu seemed confused, however she didn't inquire any further, silently nodding. Meanwhile, Miwa was staring at Miketsu, turning to Izumi after a while. Miketsu and Izumi noticed Miwa staring at themselves and turned to meet his eyes. Miwa then said, "Don't get too friendly with Tamakoma."

"My apologies, but may I inquire why?"

"How much do you know about Tamakoma?" Izumi, became flustered, and tried to stop Miwa from speaking anymore. The others in the room also didn't know what to do. "I have heard the rough details from Reiji-san."

"Was Reiji aware of what happened? If he did, did he speak above being aware of it? You wouldn't want to be associated with them, would you?"

"Reiji-san probably has a rough idea. I haven't said anything on my own. Kuga-senpai is nothing more than a senior from school, and agent Amatori has allowed my lowly self to become her friend. I am taking an appropriate distance. There is no problem with being associated with them on my lowly end."

"So you are aware..." Miwa sighed and said no more. The others were slightly confused, but decided to not inquire any further. Izumi cleared his throat and said, "So, who's next?" 

"Narasaka will switch with Kodera." Narasaka nodded at his captains's indirect order and stood up from the couch. The three walked into the training room and the match swiftly started. This time, Miketsu was positioned at the center of the map, Yoneya being the closest at south, and Narasaka south-east in a rather good position. Miketsu immediately started moving with bagworm on, albeit more carefully than before, taking caution of all directions. Yoneya was moving north-east so Miketsu followed, guessing Narasaka was somewhere east on the map. Looking at her radar, she silently calculated the time it would take to catch up to Yoneya, only to swiftly change directions to south-west. After confirming that she was about 200meters away from Yoneya, she turned south-east. She noticed that Yoneya was slowing down, so she stayed low and speeded up. She silently mad her way further east than Yoneya, then stopped to hide in the shadow of a five-story building. She went inside and jumped her way up the middle of the staircase. She speedily opened the door to the roof top and closed it, hiding behind a wall instead. She confirmed Yoneya's position on the radar, to see that he moved slightly north. She turned to face north. There were quite a few buildings that seemed good sniping spots. She decided to move north-east, then used asteroid to destroy the third floor of the building she was previously in. She waited to see the flash of a scope and quickly advanced towards the building it came from. Yoneya who was told about the explosion through the coms by Narasaka was told to move east, and he grinned replying positively. Miketsu glanced at her radar once more to see that Yoneya was about 200 meters away from her, although she was the only one aware of that. Narasaka turned his scope slightly east and saw a shadow moving towards him. He informed Yoneya of this, adjusting his position. Miketsu took her bagworm off and jumped up into the air. Narasaka did not miss the chance to shoot and aimed for her head. She swiftly dodged as she ran on the rooftops, closing the distance between them. They were about 100 meters apart by then, but Narasaka suddenly started moving west. Miketsu also changed directions and jumped to another rooftop, only to shoot an asteroid to a building on her right side. The wall was destroyed, and she could see Yoneya who was positioned on the next street over, that was hidden by the shadow of it. Yoneya grinned and jumped up the sides of some buildings to reach Miketsu, only to be shot three times, grazing his legs, and ignored. Miketsu went straight to Narasaka, however she was shot in the arm. Miketsu didn't falter however as she didn't even turn back to Yoneya as he tried to catch up. She shot a meteora to Narasaka as it was shielded. Narasaka changed to lightning and calmly took his shot. Miketsu finally became close enough and jumped to the rooftop Narasaka was on. She was almost shot in the head, but she pinpoint shielded it. As the smoke cleared, she landed on the rooftop, only to be met with Narasaka holding an ibis. Narasaka pulled the trigger, as she twirled to the side, only to have her right arm blown away. However, Narasaka did not have enough time to notice the multitudes of asteroids, surrounding him. He shielded, but as it couldn't withstand the power of the multitudes of asteroids, he bailed out. Miketsu suddenly jumped back and turned her body, shooting at Yoneya with her handgun. Yoneya barely dodged, only to notice half of his right leg was blown away. He regained his balance and lunged forward, stabbing at Miketsu's arm, succeeding. He twisted his arm upwards and aimed for Miketsu's neck in an instant. Miketsu ducked and kicked upward to Yoneya's arms, and his grip faltered. Miketsu shot asteroids and Yoneya decided to take his distance. By the time he was aware, Miketsu was already at his close right, and was aiming at his head. He shielded in time and swung his spear, chipping of Miketsu's fingers, only to be too late to notice half of his body was about to be blown away. He was able to avoid a fatal wound, however he couldn't save his lower left arm. He managed to grip his weapon in his right hand, and make a sloppy slash, Miketsu jumping back in the process. However, Yoneya lunged as far as he could, and stabbed Miketsu in the chest just as she landed. She raised her arm and shot with her handgun one last time. The bullet grazed Yoneya's neck and as Miketsu was transported away, he noticed hi other arm was gone. "Just when in the world did you manage to take my other arm, Miketsu-chan."

Time skip

Miketsu had just finished her match with Narasaka and Kodera, ending with her  victory with the loss of one arm. She was dragged away by Izumi and they had a reflection meeting. Izumi then dismissed Miketsu, and she ran back home to finish her homework. 'You really go above my expectations, Miketsu-chan.'
