Chapter 28 - New Pack Alliance

Lucy's POV

The war against Sabertooth is finally over and now Jiemma has gotten the justice he deserves. I feel like my parents can rest in peace a little easier now. Natsu and Sting stepped up to each other as both packs gathered around them in a circle. Yukino and I stood behind our respected mates. Both Alphas smiled at each other.

"On behalf of Sabertooth, we apologise for the war we started, and we would like to ask for our packs to be allies" Sting asked, and I saw all the Sabertooth wolves smiling except Minerva. It was clear they agree with this decision. "As long as Sabertooth doesn't return to its former behaviour then your pack will always have Fairy Tail as an ally" Natsu replied. All the surrounding pack wolves began to howl and cheer in delight. Both Alphas howled towards the afternoon sky to signify the alliance of Sabertooth and Fairy Tail.

"So, I guess Yukino will become your Alpha Female?" Natsu asked. "Of course, and I know she will make an excellent Alpha Female just like Lucy will for Fairy Tail" Sting replied and both Yukino and I stepped beside our mates. "Yep, she's the best mate and will be the best Alpha Female I could ever ask for" Natsu said while turning towards me with a big smile that made me blush. "Well, we better be going. A lot of new management changes to make when we get back home. See you later Alpha Natsu" Sting said as he turned with his pack and started to leave. "See you later Alpha Sting" Natsu replied.

"We'll have a lot to catch up on when we next see each other" Yukino said to me as she walked beside Sting. "Same here. Have a safe journey home" I replied and then I suddenly felt pressure against the side of my stomach. I looked over my shoulder to see Natsu putting his ear up to my stomach. "Natsu, what are you doing?" I asked my silly Alpha. "I'm trying to hear my pups kick" he replied as he concentrated on listening to my stomach. I giggled at his overexcited. "Sh, I can't hear them kicking" he lightly scolded. He was so serious about hearing his pups, it was adorable. He'll definitely make a great father.

"They're not fully formed yet. They won't start kicking for at least another month or so" I replied. "She's right idiot" Gray said as he walked over with Erza. "Oh right" Natsu nervously chuckled as he removed his ear from my stomach. "How many pups do you think Lucy will give birth to?" Erza asked the males. "Better not be more than one. I can't stand the thought of mini Natsus running around causing havoc" Gray said and Natsu glared at him. "Well, I don't care how many but I know I want a lot" Natsu replied, smiling proudly. "Bet on how many puppies our future Alpha Female will give birth too!" we heard Cana shout and lots of wolves rushed to her to place their bets. The four of us rolled our eyes at Cana's shenanigans.

"How about you Lucy? How many would you like?" Erza now turned the question to me. "I don't mind. As long as they are all healthy then I'm happy" I replied with a smile. "Good answer" she smiled. Natsu then turned towards the betting wolves. "Tonight we celebrate our victory AND my future pups!" Natsu cheered and the pack howled in excitement.

When we got back to the main pack area, everyone was eating berries, dancing and talking around a huge bonfire. Looks like everyone loves the Beer Berries I introduced. Half of the wolves were already drunk. Unfortunately, I can't partake in the Beer Berries while I'm pregnant but I'm still having fun in my own way.

"I hunted three times the number of rabbits than you did!" Natsu shouted at Gray. "Zero times three is still zero, idiot!" Gray shouted back. "No it's not, it's three!" Natsu argued. I watched the males argue next to me. Before the party, Natsu and a few other males went out hunting to celebrate my pregnancy and now Gray and Natsu were arguing over who caught the most rabbits. How childish.

"Enough!" Erza shouted as she walked over. Both males yelped and jumped back in fear. "We have a pack matter we need to discuss" she said and Natsu tilted his head cutely. "Can't it wait until tomorrow?" he asked. "No. It's really important. Let's discuss this somewhere else. Follow me" she replied. I was confident this was an Alpha and Beta matter, so I stayed where I was. "You come too Lucy" Erza said which shocked me. What could they need me for?

Once we were far enough from the party, we stood in a circle. "Should we make Lucy officially the Alpha Female tomorrow?" Erza asked Natsu and Gray. I would love to be Alpha with Natsu but it wouldn't feel right if I got the position just because I'm Natsu's mate. "You don't have to make me Alpha Female just because I'm Natsu's mate" I interjected. "What are you talking about Lucy? It's not just because you're my mate" Natsu said. "Natsu's right. An Alpha Female doesn't have to be mated to the Alpha Male or even be the strongest in the pack. It could go to a female who's smart and you clearly have one of the smartest brains in the pack" Erza said and Gray nodded. "More brains than Pink Freak over here" he commented. "Hey!" Natsu exclaimed, offended.

"Then why not make Levy the Alpha Female? She's smarter than me" I asked. "Levy doesn't have the personality for this position. Besides, she's happy with where she stands in the pack. If she didn't then she would've tried for the position ages ago. You have both the brains and personality to be an Alpha Female" Erza explained. "Also, didn't Loke mention you were the Heir to the Celestial Pack? You were born to be an Alpha" Gray said. "Well yeah, but that was years ago" I replied, slowly losing the argument.

"Plus, everyone in the pack is waiting for the day you accept the position" Gray added. "Really?" I asked, surprised. "Yeah, everyone has been wanting this to happen since we found out our dumb Alpha here had developed a crush on you" he replied and Natsu looked away shyly. It was really cute to watch Natsu act all shy. "Anyway, Lucy, will you please become Alpha Female of Fairy Tail?" Natsu asked, trying to change the subject.

I had a quick think about it. Their arguments were airtight, and I couldn't find any fault with them. Looks like my choice is clear and simple. "I would love to become Alpha Female" I answered. "Yay!" Natsu jumped with excitement while Erza and Gray smiled proudly. "Then it's settled. We'll have the ceremony tomorrow afternoon. Now, let's go back and enjoy the party" Erza said as she started walking back to the party. "Let's see who can eat the most Beer Berries" Natsu challenged as he started running towards the party. "You're on" Gray accepted, running after him, while I followed behind them. Everyone enjoyed the party and partied late into the night.
