Chapter 13
3rd POV 

After Shoto forgave Izuku and Izuku finished flooding the room with tears, he left to go watch the other matches. 

The other matches weren’t as exciting as the previous.

There was Tenya Ida vs Ibara Shiozaki (the gal who had spanked Denki during his battle). The girl tried her long distance attack but was ultimately pushed out of bounds by Ida’s recipro burst. It was a very quick fight. 

Next up was Fumikage Tokoyami against Mina Ashido. Once midnight gave the okay Fumikage sent dark shadow at Mina who tried to throw acid balls at the creature but Dark shadow dodged and pushed her out of bounds. This win allowed Fumikage to move into the semi-finals...and if the next winner is Bakugo, well, Ibara will pray for his soul. 

After them was Katsuki Bakugo vs Eijiro Kirishima. The battle starts off as just Bakugo sending explosion after explosion at kirishima who continually blocked them with his hardening. Kirishima rushes Bakugo with a flurry of punches which puts Bakugo on the defensive. 

Bakugo gets some explosions in and finally manages to damage Kirishima. 

“You damn idiot. You’ve been keeping yourself rock hard for the entire fight, you’re overusing your quirk beyond its limits.”

Knowing that his hardening will give way any second, Bakugo sends a large explosion at kirishima, who manages to block. But Bakugo continued after that explosion with numerous smaller ones that force Kirishima into overusing his quirk. He strikes with one final blow and Kirishima falls defeated. 

In the stands, Tetsutetsu is deeply disappointed with Eijiro’s performance after cheering him on for the whole fight. 

Midnight takes to the platform and announces the four contestants for the semi-finals.

“Katsuki Bakugo. Tenya Ida. Fumikage Tokoyami. And finally, Izuku Midoriya! I hope you’re ready~!”

The crowd cheers loud and proud for the four contestants.

*knock knock*

Shoto’s head perks up as Recovery Girl opens the door revealing Tenya Ida. 

“Hello, I was hoping to speak with todoroki if it’s not too much trouble.”

“Oh it’s no trouble at all dearie, he’s just over there.” Recovery a girl points over to a curtain and Ida thanks her.

Ida walks over and sits on a chair facing todoroki. *sigh* “I’m going to be Frank here, I’m going up against midoriya. When you were fighting him, were there any openings? Anything weak point you saw, anything at all?” 

Todoroki looked away and racked his brain for ideas. He looked through his memories of the battle and, “No. There was no weak point. No openings. Just overwhelming power. And he was holding back major power, I could tell. I mean we all knew that he was holding back, but fighting him gave me a new perspective. There’s more power in his pinky finger than there is in our entire class. So no, you have no chance of winning.” 

Ida looked surprised before smiling and dropping his head. “I knew it.” 

He lifted his head and gave todoroki a small smile. “Thank you for being honest with me.” Shoto merely nodded his head and Ida then left.

“You know,” Shoto nearly jumped out of the bed. “You should probably go cheer him on, in the stands. He could use it after this.” And just like that, they were gone. Shoto looked around for the owner of the voice but came up short. 

Paranoia was creeping up his back and sent shivers down his spine at how close yet far away the voice felt. 

“Todoroki?” He snapped his head up and met the kind eyes of Recovery Girl. “Are you alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” 

'More like heard a ghost.'

Took him a minute but he responded. “Y-yeah, um, I think I’m all good so I’m gonna go watch the matches now. Thank you for all your help Recovery Girl.” And he got the heck outta dodge.

When he regrouped with the rest of his class in the stands, the battle was already underway. You could easily tell that midoriya was toying with Ida, so close yet so far, just like that voice….

“Todoroki?” The poor boy was so lost in thought he failed to recognize the worried faces of his classmates. A hand was placed on his shoulder by Yaoyorozu. “Todoroki are you alright? The battle has been done for a few minutes now and you have yet to move.”

Shoto met the worried gaze of momo and gave her a small smile to reassure her. “Don’t worry, I was simply lost in thought. I’m alright.” He got up and decided to wander around the stands till the next battle...bad choice.

As soon as he left the company of his class he ran into Endeavor. 

“Shoto, I can’t believe you allowed that winged freak to best you. I made you to be the best, to beat all might! And you allowed that six winged chicken best you?! I am disappointed in you Shoto-”

“Okay first of all, that six winged chicken is my friend. Second of all, you weren’t there. You weren’t fighting him. You couldn’t sense the overwhelming power he possesses because you were too hellbent on me beating him, which would be like taking an actual chicken and putting it against all might and expecting the chicken to win. It’s impossible. And third of all, I never needed your validation or praise on anything and never will. So get out of my way.” 

Leaving no room for a counter argument Shoto left, leaving the flaming garbage can behind, frozen in place.

Little did both of them know, a certain someone was hiding behind a corner radiating pure happiness. 

“The next battle is about to begin, will both contestants please make it to the arena!” 

'Ooo its time for Bakugo against Tokoyami! I gotta see this!'

GREETINGS ALL! I know yall are waiting for izuku to give bakugo a nice beat down but I wanna keep to the anime (I haven't read the manga😭) as much as possible. I know I've skipped over some things in this story and I do apologize, but I'm getting better (I hope) any ways ill stop my rambling! Till the next update!
