It's like four in the morning but Joy was awake. She woke up while everyone was still asleep. She just slept for two hours and she felt tired actually but every time she tried to go back to sleep, she'll end up opening her eyes again. She decided to go to the kitchen and drank a glass of water, maybe that could help her go back to sleep. She sat on one of the chairs on the dining table and just silently drank her water. The cabin was pretty dark that time.
"Hey, couldn't sleep?" Joy heard someone said. She looked up and see Michael was standing beside the dining table rubbing his sleepy eyes. Joy smiled at him and shook her head telling that she couldn't.
"Me too," Michael yawned then he sat across her and rested his head on the table.
"Are you sure you couldn't sleep?"
"Pretty sure," Michael replied but then he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep. Joy giggled then put her head on the table too trying to close her eyes and sleep. But then she opened it again. She sat up straight and looked to her right then to her left. She stood up and slowly walked to the side of the table.
Michael opened his eyes and saw Joy standing a bit far from him, "hey, what are you doing?" he asked. Joy turned her head to him but she didn't reply him. She kept walking slowly and she looked like she's looking for something.
"What are you looking for?" Michael asked again but this time Joy answered him.
"Nothing, I just--"
Joy tripped and fell to the ground. Michael immediately helped her to get up. "Are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
"I'm okay."
Both of them then stood up. Joy frowned when she saw Brownie was standing near the kitchen and she was looking to the bedroom door. Michael saw Joy was looking at something so he turned around to see what Joy's looking. And he saw Brownie.
"Brownie?" Michael asked and suddenly Brownie barked so loud but her eyes were still locked on the door. Michael and Joy walked to her and tried to calm her down. Michael sat down beside Brownie and then he covered her mouth trying to stop her from barking. Joy was kneeling behind Michael and Brownie and she was rubbing Brownie's head.
She then looked up and then saw what Brownie saw. Joy stood up and she nudged Michael with her foot. Michael looked at Joy and he saw her mouth was opened and she was looking at something. Brownie had stopped barking but she's still looking straight to the door. Michael finally turned his head to the door and he stood up fast after he saw the thing Brownie and Joy was looking.
It was standing behind the bedroom door that's a bit opened. Someone was peeking behind the door. But the only one inside the bedroom was....
"Leslie?" Michael called. Michael was about to walk to the bedroom but Joy stopped him. Her heart was beating so fast. Leslie then closed the bedroom door hard making Joy and Michael flinched.
"Why is she awake?" Michael enquired. Joy shrugged and she bit her lower lip.
"Joy? Is there something you want to tell me?" Michael asked softly. Joy looked at his eyes and she's still biting her lip. Michael lifted his eyebrows at her and finally Joy spoke up.
"Yesterday, when I was bathing Leslie, I saw so many wounds on her body. And then, when I was drying her body, I saw this weird wound that's turning really purple and I saw pus coming out from the wound," Joy explained. Michael listened to her and tried to find the point.
"I called Nathalie and told her about this. Um, Mikey...." Joy continued. Michael hm-ed her then Joy cleared her throat.
"I believe that was a bite mark. I think Leslie is infected--"
