Day Five (Part 2)

"Shut up, Jack! Stop being such a pussy!" Calum shouted. Grace looked at him then she told Jack to just sit down and told him to calm himself down.

Ashton drove the truck as far as he could from the cabin and none of them weren't shocked about what just happened that morning in the cabin.

Nathalie had her face on her palms and she tried to find the cause of Leslie's infection. How could they didn't aware at all about that? There should be a zombie inside the cabin or somewhere until Leslie got bitten and turned into one of the zombies.

"What are you thinking about, Nath?" Luke said to her. Nathalie looked up to him.

"Trying to figure out how Leslie got bitten," she replied then she stared at the road behind the truck. They never brought Leslie outside the cabin. So how did she get the bite mark? Joy saw the bite mark first but she wasn't sure it was a bite mark.

Nathalie then remembered about Leslie's story before she found the guys. She tried to remember what she said that time.

"She was playing with Jimmy and the zombies came and attacked them then bit Jimmy," she mumbled to herself. She closed her eyes hoping she could remember what Leslie said. "They hurt Jimmy and I...I run away but I can't find my mommy and daddy." They hurt Jimmy and I. They bit Jimmy and her! She said I twice not because of sobbing. She was saying that she had been bitten when she was playing with Jimmy!" Nathalie said quite loudly that the others turned their heads to them. "Oops," she added.

"Who's Jimmy?" asked Grace.

"Leslie's friend before she found the guys while they were fishing. She already got the bite mark before she met you guys," Nathalie explained. Luke, Calum, and Jack looked at her and they're confused. That was probably two days ago. She looked fine that time, even though she was a little bit filthy. A zombie bit her two days ago but she's infected this morning. That's weird.

"How come she's still human these past two days? I thought once you got bitten, you'll turn to be like them right away," Calum frowned. Nathalie shrugged at his sentence because actually she's as confused as him right now.

They spent the journey in silence. They're still mourning about their loss. Alan, Katie, and Leslie were great friends to them. Even when they only knew them for two days. Alan and Katie helped them to keep survive by letting them stay in their family cabin and by covering their backs when zombies were around. Leslie, the little girl brought happiness to them when they weren't happy at all.

Now they're back to how they were before they met those three people. But they're lucky they survived. It felt hurt when you survived but some of your friends weren't.

"Guys, take a look at this," Ashton said from the driver's seat. The others than sat up straight and looked around them. They're already in another city. But this city was different. They used to see some zombies wandering around a city but they didn't see anything here. They just saw abandoned buildings and dirty roads. They didn't see any damages in the city. The buildings were still in good conditions. They didn't know in which side of area they're now. Ashton drove the truck slowly because he's not sure if the city was totally empty or not. If he drove it faster, and if the city wasn't empty and some zombies were there somewhere, he will attract them to come out because of the loud sound from the machine.

Ashton then stopped in front of a building and they all then looked at that building. "Wow, nice," Jack said.

"Mall!" said the rest together then they laughed happily. Ashton parked the truck near the entrance, as near as he could in case they need to run away from something, they will reach the truck faster. They all then got off the truck and went inside the mall.
