The next day, Mark didn't see Donghyuck anywhere. He get weird without the boy that always seemed to appear out of no where. Mark laid down and stared at his ceiling.
"I don't like this loneliness." Mark sighed. He then got out and grabbed the sticky note that Jungwoo gave him and got ready.
Mark stood outside of an apartment and was nervous. He didn't know if he was really ready for all the answers. Mark took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A couples seconds passed and a man with brown hair and a very friendly face opened the door.
"Hello, can i help you?" The man asked.
"Yes! Are you Moon Taeil?" Mark asked. The man nodded and let Mark in.
"What do you need?" Taeil asked.
"I need to ask you about you're cousin, Donghyuck." Mark said.
"What do you need to know about him?" Taeil's eyes darkened and the mood got depressing.
"What happened to him? No one will tell me." Mark sighed.
"What's your name?" Taeil questioned as though he already knew Mark's name.
"Mark Lee." Taeil scoffed out a laugh and shook his head.
"Of course." Taeil muttered. "Why do you want to know about Donghyuck?"
"This may sound really, really weird but I can see and hear and touch Donghyuck but he told me no one else can and I'm scared about what is happening." Mark blurted. "I don't know why people can't see or hear him." Mark frowned. "All he wants to know is why people can't see or hear him, and i'm the only one who can communicate with him but i don't have the answer."
"Lee Donghyuck died." Taeil said. Mark froze and it looked like his world had crashed. "He died exactly almost two years ago." Taeil bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from crying.
"B-but how can I..." Mark never finished his sentence. He was in so much shock at the information he just received. Sure, he joked about Donghyuck being a ghost but he didn't want it to be reality.
"People say that the dead often stay if they have unfinished business. If it's a person then probably that person can see the dead." Taeil sighed. "You're Donghyuck's unfinished business."
"I don't even know him." Mark shook his head. "I've never met him before."
"Yes you have, Mark. Don't you think it's weird how everyone around you, except you, know Donghyuck. Why is it you that can only see Donghyuck and not people who've known him for years?" Taeil raised an eyebrow.
"I can't remember anything from two years ago." Mark placed his palm on his forehead.
"You can, Mark. You're brain blocked out all the memories but you remember." Taeil said. "Remember and you can help Donghyuck move on. It's the least you can do."
"There are times where I don't want to remember those things." Mark looked down at his feet. "I don't want to remember."
"You have to or Donghyuck will stay here forever." Taeil frowned. "I can't force your decision. If I was in your position, I wouldn't be selfish like you."
The door opened and a handsome man walked in with groceries. "Hello." He said. "Why's there so much tension?" He asked.
"It's nothing, Sicheng." Taeil forced a smile as he greeted his fiancé. "I think it's time for you to go, Mark." Taeil looked back at Mark. Mark could tell that Taeil held no ill intent towards him.
"I'll see you around." Mark left the apartment and went back to his house. As soon as Mark walked in, he got tackled to the floor.
"Idiot! I was worried. I woke up and you just left without saying anything to me." Donghyuck clung onto Mark.
"What do you mean? I thought you left early." Mark furrowed his eyebrows. Donghyuck shook his head.
"Did you find out anything?" Mark decided to not tell Donghyuck what Taeil had told him.
"Nope, he's just like all the others." Mark bit his cheek. "No information whatsoever." Mark laughed awkwardly.
Donghyuck eyed him for a bit before nodding. "Let's go to the park!" Donghyuck grabbed Mark's hand and dragged him to the park that was across his house. "Swings!" Donghyuck squealed.
They both sat on the swings in a comfortable silence."Mark, will you still be friend with me even when you go to high school?" A boy asked as he sat on the swings with Mark.
"Of course I will. I'll still talk to you and all of our other friends! Why are you asking?" Mark frowned.
"Because Taeil said that when people go to high school they forget about their younger friends." The boy frowned.
"He's lying. I'm still friends with Johnny and all the others and they're way older than us. I'll never leave you, Donghyuckie." Mark ruffled the younger boys hair. Mark never saw the way the boy blushed and what the boy had whispered. He never saw how the boy was treated as soon as he got home.
Mark gasped as he opened his eyes and saw he was still in the park but was laid on the bench. He felt someone stroking his hair.
"Finally, you're awake. You fell off the swing." Donghyuck looked at Mark worriedly. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay." Mark forced a smiled. What was that dream he had?
