Donghyuck stared at his house in pain. He couldn't go in. It was like something was stopping him. Donghyuck saw a window opened in his house and slipped in.
Donghyuck stared at his house in disgust and sadness. Trash was piling up and his mother was nowhere in site. "Mom?" He called out.
He heard soft cries in his mother's room. He opened the door and closed it. He saw his mother on her bed sobbing.
"Donghyuck." She cried. "Please come back. Come back to me." She cried more.
"Mom, I'm here." Donghyuck hugged her but she didn't acknowledge.
"I'll do anything. I just want my son." She ended up sobbing hysterically.
"I'm here. Please feel me." Donghyuck cried as he hugged her harder. "Why can't you feel me?"
Donghyuck left his house after hours of clinging onto his mother. He couldn't stand seeing his mother cry anymore. As he walked back to Mark's house, he saw a flyer with his face on it.
"Remember Haechan!"
Lee Donghyuck, aka Haechan, died October 16th, 2018. No one knows exactly how he died, he was found lifeless in an alleyway. Some say that it was suicide and others say it was foul play. Please, don't forget Haechan! He lit up so many lives including mine!
Donghyuck gasped and dropped the flyer. He ran as fast as he could. He didn't know where he was running to. He wanted to leave and never come back. Was this just a sick joke that everyone decided to play on him?
Donghyuck was at some lake. He didn't remember the directions or how to go back but something inside him told him to go there. He stared at how the moon illuminated the water. Donghyuck didn't know how long he stayed just looking at the water.
The leaves rustled from the bushes and a man appeared. "Donghyuck, what are you doing here?" Mark asked as he sat next to the boy.
Donghyuck didn't answer and just stared at the water. Mark sighed and stared at the water as well. The two sat in a comforting silence for a while.
"I'm dead." Donghyuck broke the silence. "I've been dead for two years." Tears welled up in his eyes as he brought his knees up to his face. Mark didn't say anything and just looked at him. "My mom can't even get out of bed." Donghyuck took a shaky breath. "Did you know?"
"Yeah." Mark whispered. "I knew." He said quieter.
"I want to leave." Donghyuck sighed. "I hate it here." He frowned.
"Are you sure?" Mark asked. Donghyuck nodded and stared into Mark's eyes. "Donghyuck..." Mark leaned closer to the younger. Donghyuck felt himself leaning closer as well.
They wrapped their arms around each other. Their faces were buried into each other's necks. "I don't want you to go." Mark mumbled. "But you need to so i'll remember everything. I swear."
"Thank you, Mark." Donghyuck whispered. "Thank you."
Mark and Donghyuck were laying in Mark's bed. Mark was already sleeping but Donghyuck just stared at Mark's face.
"In the end, you will leave me too." Donghyuck remembered those words every time he looked at Mark.
"Falling in love...is a foolish thing to do." Donghyuck muttered. "Only fools fall in love." He whispered as he turned around.
"Guess I'm a fool."
