Chapter 10

A month passes, and you wake up feeling sick to your stomach. Is this what I think it is? You quickly run to the bathroom and throw up in the toilet. You flush and wash your face. You open one of the drawers to find it. A pregnancy test.

So, you use the restroom and test it out. You shake it and a smiley face appears. Pregnant. You're having a baby. Dark's baby. You jump and squeal in excitement. Dark runs to you. "What is it? What has happened?!" You show him the test and his eyes light up. "Oh my goodness! I'm going to be a father! A father!" He picks you up by the waist and spins you around. "Oh, baby, I'm so happy!"

You and Madelyn decide to go out and shop to celebrate. You buy a bunch of gender-neutral baby clothes and accessories. You also buy maternity wear for when you grow bigger.

When you get home, there's a loud hammering upstairs. You and Madelyn follow the sound to a pastel yellow and blue room. Dark is putting together a baby crib. You smile and giggle at the sight of him. A t-shirt and jeans covered with paint splattered all over him. He turns to you. He walks over and kisses you. You envelop into the kiss. He releases and continues his work. You and Madelyn help decorate the room.

Five months have passed. You go to the doctor to have an ultrasound. This is when you find that you are having triplets! And you are going to have two boys and one girl. You have the picture taken to show Dark.

When you get home you hand him the picture. He smiles wide. He picks you up and kisses you. "I better start on two more cribs!" You laugh as he runs up the stairs to the nursery.

Oh my goodness it's nine months. You hug your stomach as you have your contractions. Dark rushes you to the hospital. You get into the bed and get ready for labor.

You scream and push as each child comes out. First a boy, then another boy, and then a girl. You exhale and relax as the babies get cleaned and cared for.

The doctor hands you the baby girl and Dark holds the two boys in his muscular arms. "And their names?" Dark was planning on naming the boys while you name the girl. "Theodore for the eldest boy and Zane for the younger boy." The doctor smiles and writes the names down. "And the girl?" You look down and the baby's sleeping face. "Elizabeth." The doctor writes it down and smiles at the new family. "One big happy family."

After two days in the hospital, you can take the babies home. You carefully set them down in their cribs. Madelyn rushes into the nursery, cooing at the young babies. You hug her. "Can you be their godmother?" Madelyn stares at you. "M-Me?" You laugh. "Of course! You're my best friend!" She hugs you tightly. "Oh, I'd love to!"

Just before bed, you and Dark say goodnight to the babies one last time for the night. Walking out of the nursery, baby monitor in hand, Dark kisses you. "Oh, I love you. We make such beautiful children." You giggle. "Yes, we do. I love you, too."
