Freefalling was the best and worst feeling in the world. Losing your stomach in mere seconds was always interesting to say the least, but as soon as that wind started blowing a chill across your face, everything seemed to fall into place.
I was currently next to Peter, who deployed a parachute not long ago to help him coast through the Tower Bridge. My powers were aiding in my own descent. It was incredibly hard to see, however, and the fact that I was prone to seeing it made things worse.
As we got closer and closer to the "beast," I could tell Peter was beginning to get a bit worried. His form got a bit rockier than expected in the howling wind and rain.
"It's not real, it's not real, it's not real!" I heard Peter tell himself over and over again when we made an impact with the pixels.
When I opened my eyes again after impact, I saw waving blue lines of pixels intertwined with ones of red almost like lava.
"Woah," I mumbled under my breath. "If this all wasn't for a completely terrible purpose, I would consider this awesome."
Not taking another moment, Peter and I worked our way through drones, connecting them with a combination of his webbing and my magic.
I handed Peter my magic rope to hold along with his own and he took another fall down to send an electric shock to all of the drones.
Moving off of the one I was standing on, I fell not long after, just hoping our plan would work.
To our luck, we both witnessed many patches of light break through the blue-tinted world. Mysterio's perfect world was disappearing in the blink of an eye.
One of the patches in front of us showed the glass walkway that was connected to two towers on the bridge. This was almost too lucky in my book, and I was sure we didn't even need three guesses to figure out who was on said walkway.
That luck seemed to end there, as drones dragged Peter and I in opposite directions, away from Beck and his entourage of drones.
Peter seemed to be hit with the whole "let's run into the wall act," but EDITH clearly had other plans for me. I was forcefully brought back into the water. Like being left on the beach in Germany wasn't enough.
Coming face to face with the cold, dirty water, the drone didn't stop there. I was still being brought down, even running into some concrete debris in the process.
Finally taking into account what was really happening, I took action to take out the drone that had already dragged me down way too far.
At that moment in time, all I could do was hope my adrenaline could get me to the top of this river. Resurfacing, I used a bit of my powers to create some momentum to get me out of the water.
Only then was I able to fully understand the conversations happening between Peter and Happy.
"Happy, are you okay?" Peter asked, slightly panicked.
"We're okay. Just get Beck," Happy replied, obviously still running.
"(Y/N)? How're you standing?"
"Well, I didn't know EDITH knew the trick 'drown,' but other than that I'm fine." I paused, hoping for some response only to receive none. "Uh, Peter? What's going on over-"
Explosions erupted on the other side of the bridge, followed by billowing clouds of smoke.
Of course, the drones just loved to try and kill Peter.
Feeling a presence behind me, I turned slowly to see two or three drones pointing their lasers at me. They didn't seem to be controlled by Beck, so I knew he was off trying to kill someone else.
