Vanya felt their spell go through after the black dragon had sent Ismira flying. She assumed that her wards had been completely depleted, allowing the spell to go through.

However, before the spell was allowed to be completed, it was stopped as the dragon's mind broke through their defenses at once, completely immobilizing everyone. A sense of wonder welled up as Vanya realized this must be dragon magic.

However, one person had not been immobilized, and Vanya's brows met as Eragon seemed to be in concentration, looking at the dragon.

Remove the Name from both of our minds. Fenrir's mind spoke to Eragon, who was shocked at the dragon's display of magic. Quickly.

Nodding slowly, Eragon extended his consciousness towards Ismira first, slipping easily inside of it. Thinking quickly, he cast a spell that both took the Name away, and kept her from remembering it again. He repeated the process with Fenrir, and as soon as he had completed it, the dragon shot up their mental barriers, picking Ismira up with his talons.

The others were released, and Fenrir sprung up into the air, his massive size filling the sky above them. He flew away like a bird, and slowly, they watched him disappear over the sea.

Vanya gave a grunt as she landed on the hard ground, almost face-planting if her hands hadn't caught herself.

Murtagh was next to her, although he had landed a little more gracefully than her, on his feet. He looked a little unsteady, but it was quickly forgotten as Saphira walked over to Eragon, who was watching as the black speck in the sky slowly got farther and farther away.

Eragon rested a hand on Saphira's snout and leaned against her. I missed you. He said, stroking it affectionately.

And I you. I am glad we came back in time.

Eragon nodded, and tore his eyes away from the almost invisible Fenrir and Ismira. He looked around, noting the body of Onvyr and his dragon, as well as the Shade's sword which was lying on the ground. Walking over, he picked it up in his hands, studying the runes written on it. NAMEOFSHADE. He's not dead. Kaldar didn't pierce him through the heart. I do not blame him, however, as he didn't know better.

Which means we need to hunt him down and exterminate him before he does great evil. Saphira growled low in her throat, and Eragon smiled.

He will be alright for a while yet. Shades need someone to work for, and as of now, he has no employer.

Although I'm sure he could find someone evil to work for easily. Saphira mentioned, looking at the bodies of Onvyr and his dragon. I believe there was a flaw in our training.

Oh? Eragon asked, interested in learning what she thought.

We never discussed truly why Galbatorix was wrong. That is where we lost Onvyr.

Eragon was silent for a moment, thinking about the matter at hand. I believe so.

Then all was quiet as they each were separated in their own thoughts, thinking about different matters until quietly, they all returned to their own homes on Evarinya. The day had been taxing, and as the sun set, Vanya was grateful to slip under the soft covers.

Kaldar curled up next to the bed, and slipped quickly into sleep, eager to rest his wings from flying for 'the next century' as he claimed.

Vanya was awake for some time after that, until finally, she flipped back the covers, and ran barefoot out to the training grounds, where she tilted her head up as much as possible to take in as many stars as she could.

They gleamed and glittered brightly, waving thier short hands at Vanya, who smiled and gave a small wave back, even though she knew they weren't really waving.

For the first time, she recognized why the place was named Evarinya, as the stars were the most prominent thing at night. The moon, even, was outshined by them, and Vanya stood there for she knew not how long gazing at their beauty.

"The stars glitter well tonight." she spoke softly, "Gleaming their unmatched beauty." she closed her eyes as new lines slipped out of her mouth, "Remembering those who were lost." Aiden, Rathen, Nym, Onyr, Thorn. "Remembering rough waters, where all hope seemed lost." Memories flashed back inside her head, and she continued, "But all was conquered, and we lifted out heads up."

"The stars glitter well tonight."
