"Ughhhh... Roy? You okay?" Ross asked upon realizing what had happened.

"Yeah I'm fine. This happens a lot." He replied trying to stand up but squeaked in pain and fell back down.

"Roy? What's wrong." Ross questioned worriedly.

"M-my leg.. I can't st-stand on it.. It hurts a-a lot.." Roy replied shakily. Ross tried to find a light in order to see what happened to Roy. He found a string hanging from the ceiling and pulled it turning on a small, dim light bulb. He got back down onto the ground with Roy, seeing his leg was definitely bent the wrong way. Roy saw this and began to freak out.

"Hey, hey... Roy its okay." Ross said softly.

"My leg is bent the wrong way and it hurts and I can't walk we're trapped down here we're gonna starve and die and-" Roy got cut off by Ross hugging him. Roy hugged back and began to cry softly. Ross couldn't blame him. He knew that if he would've been in Roy's position he would be terrified. He held Roy close just trying to calm him down. He rubbed Roy's back soothingly and kept telling him that everything was going to be okay and he was going to keep Roy safe. Roy eventually fell asleep in Ross' arms. Ross moved Roy off of him and leaned him against the wall so he could begin to search for a way out. He surveyed the entire room. There were three doors and two windows. One door lead to a laundry room, another was the door that lead to the basement, and the third one was locked. Ross assumed this third door lead outside though as it felt very cold and there was a puddle of water seeping through the bottom. He looked to the two windows. Both of them were much too high for either of them to reach. He knew that trying to unlock the door to the outside was a bad idea. Even if they made it out of the door, what was their new plan? They would either get spotted by Roy's mom or freeze. Both of those were obviously bad. He suddenly had a thought. He had his phone. He pulled it out of his pocket. It was badly damaged from melted snow and the impact of his fall, but it still worked. His reception wasn't great, but he did manage to call the police. The call would be kinda broken up, but he managed to tell the cops what had happened and where they were before the call cut out completely. Roy woke up a couple minutes after Ross' call with the police had ended. Roy looked around and then saw his leg again.

"Oh. It's real." Roy said softly.

"What's real?" Ross asked.

"My broken leg and the basement." Roy replied.

"Yeah, but were gonna get out of here soon. The police are on their way." Ross said smiling a bit. Roy looked terrified.

"Th-they're gonna g-give me t-to my uncle." He stuttered out.

"Is that bad?" Ross asked.

"Very bad. He's mean and does not nice things to me." Roy replied afraid.

"Oh... Is there anyone else you could live with?" Ross questioned. Roy shook his head.

"My older brother is only thirteen so he's not old enough. He would be the only other person who won't hurt me." Roy replied. Ross looked as if he was thinking for a minute. Then he called his dad hoping he would pick up. His dad did and was very worried as Ross hadn't come home. Ross explained how he had met Roy, how Roy was scared about living with his uncle, the basement, and everything. His dad said he was on his way over and that Roy and his older brother could stay with them for a while. Ross got off the phone and looked to Roy.

"Where's your older brother and do you know his phone number?" He asked.

"Probably upstairs in his room and yes." Roy replied. Ross handed him his phone.

"Call him and tell him the police are on their way and you guys can live with us." Ross said. Roy's eyes lit up when Ross said that last part. Roy immediately dialed his older bother's number as sirens were heard outside.
