Hello everyone. I know I haven't updated this book in quite some time, but that's because I've been rereading it, going through my AU, and realizing I have made so many conflicting facts and inconsistencies between my AU and the book based on my AU. I am thinking of rewriting the whole story, but until I decide here are the inconsistencies and maybe you guys could give me your opinions on how the story is so far and if I should actually change it.
Inconsistencies in the Hatz Friends Story
Ross is not the main character, it should have been Roy walking in the snow
Roy told Kevin they were going to live with Ross and then Kevin was surprised when Roy reiterated this later on
Ross would've been the one living in the house at the neighborhood and therefore would've been the one telling his mom to let Roy in
Ross technically also wouldn't have a mom. He would live with his dad, Jack, and his older brother, Kevin. Roy is not related to Jack or Kevin
Jack would've let Roy in right away, he would not deny letting a little kid freezing in the snow enter his house for the night.
Ross wouldn't be as curious about Roy as Roy was about him. If anything Roy would ask him a bunch of questions about him living in his house and his family.
Roy would still be the one living with Ross because of the abuse at his (Roy's) own house
The whole basement scene would be eliminated
The hospital scene would be eliminated
Robert and the car crash scene would end up happening in a completely different way due to the hospital scene being eliminated
Even if the hospital scene would still exist the fact that I had written that they called 911 in a place with no cell service would still not make sense
Yes it's true that Robert no longer had parents but Ross and Roy would both still have parents, Roy's were just in jail and Ross' dad and mom were divorced
Ross, Robert, and Kevin would've always eaten well because their families weren't abusive, Roy would have been surprised to get good food
Skid and Pump would've been much more aggressive towards the hatz friends and the friends probably would've ran away scared of them
Kallum and Kalven as well as Kevin probably wouldn't be going to the same school as the hatz friends due to the age gap
The hatz friends would also have different classes and such due to their age differences
The lunchtime scene would be eliminated due to Kevin, Kalven and Kallum, and the spooky bullies not attending the same school as the hatz friends
Roy would most likely not know what video games were but Robert would
Kevin and Ross becoming pretend bothers would no longer make sense
The hatz friends making their own comic doesn't really make sense due to the complexity of the task, so they would probably just end up drawing instead
Ross and Roy probably wouldn't be dating yet, they would probably just want to be what they would call "closest friends" with each other which just means they really really like being around each other
I personally believe Roy is trans so technically he would still be she in the story named Rey, but for the sake of the story I disregarded my headcanon of my own AU
The Hatz friends walking to the candy store a ways from their home by themselves would not be something logical due to their age and therefore this scene with the spooky bullies and kalven and kallum would be eliminated
The stalk king is not a canon character in Spooky Month and therefore shouldn't be introduced into my story but I may keep him in the story anyway
Anyway, do you guys think I should rewrite the story due to these inconsistencies? I feel like it would make a lot more sense if I did. Give me your thoughts in the comments.
