Friends to the End

The Stalk King

 The Stalk King was tapping on Ross' window. Ross and Roy both jumped back in shock.

"Robert what is that thing?!" Ross exclaimed afraid.

"The Stalk King." Robert replied.

"Yeah okay I get that but what kind of... creature is it?" Ross asked.

"Well he's the king of the stalk stars. He attacks humans to get revenge on people who attacked the rest of his species." Robert replied

"I'm assuming he's trying to hurt us?" Ross asked looking at the Stalk King.

"I don't doubt it." Robert said.

"Does he have a name?" Roy asked.

"I do indeed small child. My name is Scy and it seems you three are perfect for my next meal!" Scy hissed. Roy grabbed onto Ross out of fear. Ross grabbed onto his two friends and ran for it. He raced downstairs with his two friends. Jack saw them come barreling downstairs and stopped them.

"Woah hey hey! What's wrong guys?" Jack asked. John and Kevin heard the commotion and ran into the living room as well.

"There's a monster upstairs!" Roy exclaimed.

"He's grey, has long claws, blue, purple, and black hair, a crown, a really long tail-" Ross commented.

"And he's real! Like really real!" Robert cried. John, Jack, and Kevin all looked at each other. Then they looked at the kids.

"A... monster?" John asked.

"YES!" Roy exclaimed.

"You guys were probably seeing things." Jack stated.

"No no no you guys don't understand." Ross said.

"He was right outside! We can prove it!" Robert exclaimed. Ross, Roy, and Robert got up and led Kevin, Jack, and John upstairs.

"He's right out... here." Ross said pointing at the window which now had nothing outside. Kevin looked out the window.

"There's nothing out there buds." Kevin said to the kids.

"B-but we-" Robert said

"W-we saw i-it.." Ross stated beginning to tremble.

"I- he-" Roy began crying a bit out of fear. Jack, John, and Kevin could tell that whoever or whatever this "monster" was had very clearly genuinely terrified the kids.

"John and I will take a look around outside just to prove there's nothing out there." Jack said, trying to reassure the kids. The kids nodded at that immediately.

-Timeskip to Nighttime-

The three friends were in the bathroom brushing their teeth getting ready for bed although they already knew there would be no sleeping that night. That night the kids were wrecked emotionally. They didn't want to sleep in the treehouse, they didn't want to sleep alone, they didn't want to sleep at all. They were afraid that if they fell asleep Scy would come back and claw his way into the house to get them. John and Jack had given them some glowsticks and snacks in case they actually couldn't fall asleep and got hungry. The glowsticks were for a light source. John and Jack had told the kids that the glowsticks were "monster repellent glowing bracelets" and the kids actually fully believed them. They went into Ross' room. The three of them all sat huddled close together with their glowstick bracelets on. Then they saw a shadow coming from the window. The three of them didn't even need to turn around to know, the Stalk King had returned.

"Hello there again small kids." Scy said. The kids all suddenly turned around. Nothing. They were very confused and looked around. Suddenly Ross felt something drip onto his head. He looked up and yelled out in fear. His two friends looked up as well and also screamed. The Stalk King was in the house on the ceiling and had drooled right onto Ross' head. He jumped off the ceiling and blocked the door out of Ross' room.

"Why don't you three stay a while." Scy growled crawling towards them.

"No no no no please go away..." Ross mumbled as the three of them closed their eyes tightly hoping Scy was a hallucination or a dream. When they opened their eyes, he was gone. They sighed in relief until Roy was suddenly yanked out the window and dragged away screaming. None of them had any time to react. By the time Robert and Ross looked out the window, Roy was gone and all that was left behind was a trail of muddy claw prints. Robert and Ross looked at each other and began trembling.

"We need to tell the others.." They said in unison.
