"you're free to go home tomorrow," the doctor announces.

"tomorrow?! that's so soon."

"you should be happy you're going home tomorrow. you're doing a lot better."

yunho frowns as he leans back. sure, going home sounds good. he gets to go back to his normal life, except the fact that he'll be on crutches.

"your arm is fine but you still have to be on crutches for at least 2 weeks. if you feel confident to walk on your own, you can come back and see me. try not to do strenuous activities, and you especially can't play basketball for now. but it's only temporary, so hang in there," the doctor advises. yunho just nodded and thanked him. the doctor took that as a cue to leave.

when he was alone again, he looked at the girl next to him. she was laying in bed, asleep. he sighs as he looked at her. he actually didn't mind staying in the hospital because he got to be with her again. they have been having conversations from time to time, and they were slowly becoming on good terms again.

that was one thing yunho liked about her. no matter who it is, hanabi seem to not have a problem with talking to people and making them comfortable quick. even though they had a rough past, hanabi seem to be accepting of talking to him again.

but still, yunho's heart aches everyday because he has to see her suffer like that. and she hasn't had any visitors at all. not even one person came to visit. he doesn't want her to suffer alone, so the least he wanted to do was stay by her side.

sure, he couldn't do much. but he just wanted to be by her side. nobody deserves to suffer alone.

slowly, her eyes fluttered open. yunho quickly grabbed his phone and pretended to be on it so that she wouldn't catch him looking at her while she was sleeping.

when she wakes up, she sighs as she looks ahead. yunho noticed that she would do that often.

she was honestly sick of having to relive the same day everyday. she couldn't do anything, and she had no one to depend on anymore. everyday feels like she's reliving the same monotone routine over and over again. she wasn't sure how long she could carry on like this.

the blissful coincidence of having yunho next to her made her a little more positive. she was awkward and unsure of how to act at first, but now it feels like they're slowly getting somewhere.

it's been 3 years, so hanabi thought it was only fair to move on. there's nothing wrong with being friends again, especially if he's willing to.

plus life was too short to live with regrets. literally.

she turned around and saw yunho on his phone. she didn't want to disturb his leisure time so she stopped herself from saying anything. she was about to look away until he looked at her.

"you're awake," he smiles. his smile was so contagious that hanabi didn't realise that she was mimicking it.

"yes i am, good morning."

"good morning. did you sleep well?"

"i slept alright. what about you?"

"i slept well."

hanabi nods and looks around. "have you had breakfast?" yunho shook his head. "do you want to have breakfast together?" he asked, taking hana by surprise. eventually, she agreed.

truth is, the nurse wanted him to eat his breakfast earlier but he told her that he was going to wait for hanabi to wake up so they could eat together. yunho was hungry but he didn't mind having to wait awhile, especially if it meant spending more time with her.
