TWO WEEKS OF BEING AWAY FROM home was a lot harder and longer than you thought it would be. it wasn't just that you had to work almost every minute of the day, you couldn't go home to your lover to charge your batteries a little before going to bed.
you stood up to the conveyor belt where the suitcases and bags were spread out, slowly passing next to you. as you waited for your own baggage to finally show up on the device you took of your pant suit's jacket and throw it over your shoulder, letting out a sigh when the cool air of the airport hit your back.
you have been stuck in this pantsuit for over two hours now because of your meeting in new york then the time being so little you didn't change just straight back to the hotel, quickly pack up and try to catch your plane in time.
when your dark-colored suitcase arrived at your side, you quickly pulled it off and headed to the exit to catch a taxi and get home as soon as possible. as you step on the escalator your gaze fell on the gloomy sky, clouds piling on top of each other and when you reach the ground floor the rain starts pouring.
"great." you sighed, letting the suitcase fall from your hand before it caught the tie around your neck and quickly loosen it before unbuttoning your vest. this had to be a joke, the rain will drastically slow down the traffic in the city center which meant you either had to wait for the weather to clear or get a taxi and get stuck in traffic, paying much more money than it would be needed.
you groaned as you plopped down on the bench, burying your face into your palms, leaning forward and murmuring something against it which was probably a few curse words of how stupid this rain and weather was.
"need a ride?" you heard, your fingers spreading to reveal a pair of red and black shoes in front of you. you lifted your head with your hands still on it, slowly observing the person in front of you and almost jumping out of your skin when you saw rae standing in front of you.
"rachell!" you skipped up from the bench into the arms of your girlfriend, giving her a short but tight hug before flooding her face with shorter and longer pecks before arriving to her lips.
"and i thought this day would just get worse." you whispered, rubbing your noses together making rae chuckle. her arms wrapped around your neck with the sound of the keys on her finger rustling next to your ears.
"i missed you too, honey." she pressed a soft kiss on your lips before laying her head on your shoulder. your hands snuck around her waist, up to the middle of her back to pull her closer, with a grin and a soft color of red on your cheeks.
this was the moment you were waiting for the past two weeks, for the two of you to be in each other's arms while the world washed away in the background, turning into a blur while the two of you became the world itself.
she began to pull away, already taking a breath to ask if you wanted to go home or maybe pick some food up before but your cut her thoughts short as well as her breath by putting your left hand on her cheek to pull her into a much longer and much passionate lips to lips contact. she melted in your soft touch, her thoughts of food melting away at an instant.
"wanna grab some food?" you panted lightly after pulling away, reading her mind. she nodded before the two of you sped out of the airport, running in the rain to rae's car. you threw your suitcase in the back before getting in the passenger seat of the car.
hell, you will spend the rest of the day with rae and tomorrow too, no matter if she had to stream you would just convince her some way or another to cancel.
