“...And remember, go eagles!” Leila’s voice boomed throughout the school, as Janelle had walked onto Campus. She had been nervous because her father was going to fly in tonight, freaking her out. She had been talking to Jackson every day since she met him. He had called her that same night to make sure she got home safe.
Word around the school was that the Coach’s Son was off seeing a cheerleader from Malibu. Janelle had tried to ignore that rumor or statement because her feelings for Jordan, even if she’ll never admit them, had developed, and the fact they haven’t seen each other often, tugs at her heart.
This weekend was going to be filled with surprises. Her father was flying in tonight, and Homecoming weekend was always hectic. She had the homecoming game after the Homecoming Dance, and she still didn’t have a dress.
Plus, Janelle had talked to Spencer about what she and Olivia saw the other day. Janelle always knew, from the moment Spencer met Leila, he liked her and was attracted to her. Janelle knew this but she also wanted Olivia to be happy, and at one point Janelle thought that Spencer liked Olivia too… but things don’t always go the way we plan them.
Though Janelle knows otherwise, Olivia stated that she liked Spencer, and now she wanted Leila to be happy. Janelle knows that feelings like that never go away, that they take time to leave, but she never touched that subject afterward.

Jordan had plenty of things going on in his life. For the first time, he felt happy, he felt as if he could finally let go of his problems. Ripley had made him realize that he needed to loosen up a bit, that he also needed to have his fun.
He hadn’t talked to his friend Janelle in a while. He liked her, he did, but he knew that she was out of his league. His mind would run with thoughts of the girl he found a liking to, but he never could ask her out, ever. So, when he found Ripley, he was thrilled to find someone who would recuperate the same feeling and energy as him. Now his thoughts clouded Ripley’s presence, but from time to time Janelle would pop up in his mind, and he’d feel bad that he would think of her when he had Ripley.
So when Janelle had mentioned a guy she was "talking" to he felt his heartbeat drop down to his stomach.

"Hey Janelle, wait up!" The practice had just ended and Coach gave the "keeping it classy" speech for tomorrow's Homecoming Dance he wanted his players to be "firing on all cylinders". He wanted to show Malibu what Beverly High had to offer.
"Hey, Jordan. It's been a while." Janelle said as she stopped in front of the girl's locker room door.
"Yea. Just was asking if you wanted to hang out at our spot today. I know your dad comes in tonight, so maybe we can chill out with the homes before you have to see your pops?" Jordan asked the Davis girl, as she smiled nervously, hesitating for an answer.
"Um… yea actually, yea I'll go. I need something to get my mind prepared for the night I'm going to have." Janelle said as she gripped her helmet in her hands, as she smiled at the Baker boy, which made his heart race.
"So I heard that you, um, have been talking to someone. How's that? I mean the guy, who is he?" Jordan unexpectedly nervously spat out as he began to sweatdrop.
Janelle furrowed her brows at the question he was inquiring. "No, yea it's going great. I mean he is a really sweet guy, and he must meet my bros, right?" Janelle said as she bit the inside of her cheek, a tick she gets when nervous." His name is Jackson. Jackson Avery." Janelle said, reminiscing on the time he had introduced himself, as it had felt like he did long ago.
