She took in a deep breath and wondered if she was making the right decision, could she even go through with it? She kept pacing back in forth, her hands cold, feet cold, can she do it? "You'll make a hole on the floor if you keep going back and forth dear." She looked up to see her mother. "Why are you so nervous, it'll go by quick and easy, just smile, say yes, and be done with it in the island. It'll all benefit us all dear, you'll see." She felt heart broken, defeated. But she had to take the chance. She gave a forced smiled mad turned around before her mother saw the tear running down her cheek.
"Yes mother you're right, um may I be alone for a bit I want to calm down a bit." She made sure to wait for the door to close and when it did she cried and fell to her knees.
Why now? Of all days, why now?!
She can't do this, it felt wrong, very wrong. She can't do this to him. "Charlotte!" A girl came into the room with a radio in hand, she had a smile on her face but soon disappeared when she saw her on the floor. "I can't Charlotte, I can't go through with it, call it off." She said as she sobbed even more. The girl named Charlotte threw the radio down on a chair and sat next to her giving her a hug and letting her cry on her shoulder. "Shhh it's okay hun..."
A man walked in to see them both on the floor and he knew right then that it was done, it's all called off.
"I'll let him know, stay with her and get her out of here before he finds her. Go back to the hotel the tickets are in there with both your bags packed up ready to go, the taxi is also ready. Take the back entrance to get out without anyone seeing you both." He told them. He left leaving them in the room alone.
"Okay hun we need to go, he'll come here looking for you and we can't have that happen. Come on now up up."
Charlotte took a jacket and put it over her head making sure her face was covered. They started to make their way out of the room and to the back entrance and there outside was the taxi waiting for them. She was scared now. She's scared of the consequences that will follow after this. "He won't find us where we're going don't worry...you have me by your side." I should have never said yes in the first place, then maybe this wouldn't have happened.
Right when we got back to the hotel we quickly changed and grabbed the bags that were already packed for us. The plane tickets were also there with fake passports. I looked back at the things I was leaving behind and the we left never turning back, this was it.
