"We desiccated Klaus," Caroline said with a finch waiting for my reaction. I slowly poured tea in a tea cup for Elena very calmly which I knew had Caroline scared.
"Why," I asked calmly. "Why not? He was basically using Elena as a blood bag for his hybrids," Caroline fussed. "Okay," I said as Caroline's phone began to ring. "It's Liz," I nodded towards the phone.
I was hurt. But I'm not going to show it. Klaus being Klaus. He was always going to have enemies so deep down I knew there was always a high chance he'd leave or die. If I hurt it shows I care and if I care I get hurt more. If that makes sense.
It's an oh well situation. I can't fix it. He can't fix it. We're stuck.
As Caroline was on the call I listened. It seemed that Alaric outed Liz and Carol to the counsel and Tyler and Caroline needed to leave. I wonder if that counted for me too. Did Alaric have a vendetta against me too?
He couldn't have. I wasn't a vampire. So I guess I'm in the clear but that doesn't mean my sister isn't. So much to do, so much to worry about.
As they left I stayed with Elena and Matt. Soon Stefan came. He started cooking as Matt took care of Elena. I decided to help Stefan in the kitchen.
"Im being over-coddled," Elena whined from the couch. "You're on house arrest. You're supposed to be coddled," Stefan said. "That's not what house arrest is," I scoffed.
"Wouldn't it be smarter if we just got you the hell out of town," Matt suggested. "And do what? Play Katherine."
"No thank you. And I'm not a invalid. I'm done with the couch," Elean wrapped up her blanket finishing my statement.
"So you're just going to let her call the shots," Matt asked, turning to Stefan. "I'm letting her make her own decisions," Stefan said. "Even if they're wrong," Matt said pointedly. "Nothing wrong with freewill, Matt. Trust me. You don't realize that until you lose it," Stefan said, setting salad at the table.
"Stefan..." we turned and saw Elijah at the door standing in front of Elena. "Hey," I said happily. "Elijah," Stefan said, stepping forward. "Hello again," Elijah said with a small smile.
Moments later Elijah was discussing a plan.
"All we need is to take that stake away from him. Once it's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth. And Alaric will follow us," Elijah explained.
"And you'll just... run," Stefan asked, taking a seat beside him at the table. "We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena's able to live out the rest of her natural life," Elijah said.
"We finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything that he's done to us I cant just let you him bring him back," Elena fussed. "I give you my word, Elena. I will not revive Klaus within yours, nor even within your children's lifetimes," Elijah promised.
"That's a bit drastic," I mumbled. "Perhaps it'll finally teach him some manners," Elijah said studying my body language. I probably seemed really uninterested by this conversation and that was my goal.
"Why should she trust you? All you've done is screw her over," Matt said with anger evident in his voice. "And for that, I'm deeply ashamed. But know this- she could've been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight. So, Elena, I leave it to you to make the decision whether to trust me or not," Elijah said.
"Not! Hello! Did that concussion give you brain damage! His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get," Damon yelled over the phone. I forgot he was here and listening.
