ISLA SAT CROSS LEGGED ON HER BED.
Her mind was all over the place. The events from last night just keep replaying in her head over and over again, like her grandmother was still inside her head, tormenting her as she looked for answers.
Things were beginning to piece together but so much more questions were being arising. How had she managed to become so powerful, heck! How did even have all that power and where was it now?
It was like a complete smack in the face, watching her murder two of the people who she thought cherished her. Suddenly she didn't feel so bad about their fates anymore, she quite frankly thought that they just reaped what the sowed.
For the most part she regretted not asking to see her grandmother first instead of going to San Francisco. It would've saved her a lot of time and she could've solved the mystery of the box ages ago.
"Hey," Pierre smiled softly as he stood at the door. "Mind if I come in?"
Isla glanced at him, not saying a word but Pierre took her silence as agreement, strolling into the room with his hands in pockets as he made his way towards her bed. Isla lifelessly rocked side to side as the bed sunk under Pierre's weight.
"You alright?" Pierre asked, hesitating as he reached out to touch her leg in a comforting matter.
Isla put on a smile, straightening up in her seat. "Yeah, I'm alright." She answered, trying her best to add some sort of lively tone to her voice.
"You sure?" He asked, knitting his brows together. He looked into her eyes that were sunken, void of that sparkle filled with a raging passion. "Because you've been sitting like that since you got back last night, so like twelve hours."
Isla gazed up at him, suddenly aware of her surroundings. The room was no longer a murky black, leaving her in a state of tranquility as she collected her thoughts, concealing her from all sorts of questions as her face contorted between confusion, anger and sadness. The lamp on Teresa's light stand wasn't contributing in lighting anymore, only providing a muted yellow as the beams from the late summer summer stretching into the room, brightening their shared box of a bedroom.
"We were worried about you," He told her, nudging her shoulder causing her to wobble in her spot, "we all thought you had left us."
Isla smiled. "I would never. I mean who's gonna make you pancakes every morning."
Pierre grimaced in his seat, the taste from the batter still at the back of his throat. "On second thought, maybe you disappearing might have been a good idea."
Isla let out a sarcastic laugh, her head suddenly feeling to heavy to hold and letting it fall onto Pierre's shoulder. Pierre smiled as he looked down at her,
"What happened last night?" He said, before quickly adding, "if you don't mind me asking," in hopes of getting a better reaction out of the girl.
