Valerie's legs were trembling as she sat on a bench in one of the locker rooms. A flurry of scarlet entered the room and she jumped up off the bench.
She was in the Gryffindor's locker room on the day of the anticipated Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw Quidditch match and was more nervous than she had ever been before.
"So, like I was saying, the Keeper, she's good, so-" Charlie Weasley was saying as the team entered the room.
"Her name's Valerie." Oliver interrupted indignantly, before spotting that exact Keeper in navy blue Quidditch robes, looking at him, "What are you doing here?" he asked, walking up to her.
"Just came to wish you good luck, you're going to need it." Valerie teased.
"Yeah, we'll see about that." Oliver leaned in and kissed her. Valerie smiled against his lips and was in a complete daze.
"I call this treason!" George Weasley piped up, snapping the couple out of it.
"Exactly what I was thinking brother, snogging a Ravenclaw on today of all days!" His twin, Fred agreed.
Valerie and Oliver pulled apart and equally blushed a shade of crimson.
"I have to agree with my idiotic brothers, get out." Charlie said, pointing at Valerie, then to the door.
Valerie smiled at the team before walking up to Charlie, "No need to be aggressive, Weasley." She grinned at Oliver before exiting the room casually.
She had just entered the Ravenclaw locker rooms when Ace pounced on her, "Where the hell have you been?!" he shrieked.
"I was just wishing Ol-" Valerie started.
"Never mind that! You are the most important player, and you weren't here for my speech!" Ace looked so mad, Valerie thought he might whip out his wand and hex her.
"I thought the most important player was the seeker." Angelica teased, trying to calm Ace down.
At the movement of Angelica's hand on his arm, Ace visibly relaxed. Valerie would've let out a giggle if she wasn't so scared of Ace in that moment. Apparently, she wasn't the only one worried about today's match.
"I just-we can't lose!" Ace said, moving up to Valerie and gripping her shoulders, "I don't care how many times you've snogged Wood, but don't go easy on him. We. Cannot. Lose! This is the last match of the season!"
Valerie thought he was completely mad but didn't want to face the wrath of Ace Newman anymore, "Ace, I promised you before I even started dating Oliver, I will not let them win!" She shouted.
Before Ace could counter Valerie back, the announcer began calling out their names. She glanced back at the incredibly pale-faced boy in front of her and gave him a pat on the shoulder before walking out onto the field and mounting her broom.
She made her way up to her goalpost and scanned the field around her. It was a beautiful summer day, the skies were blue, and the wind was just right, perfect Quidditch conditions.
As she waited for the Gryffindors to come out, Angelica flew out of her position and up to Valerie. "I know Ace is mental about Quidditch, but I'm actually nervous. I'm never nervous." Angelica said shakily.
Valerie gave her a half-smile and said, "I'm nervous too, it's like these Gryffindork's got better! I don't like the looks of it."
"Do you think they're taking anything? Like to play better?" Angelica inquired, glancing down at the blur of red that erupted from one of the locker rooms.
