Chapter 5: they're together alone?

{EMILY'S POV}
It's 4 in the afternoon.. I took a long shower today and just sat on my laptop looking for part time jobs so I can pay for my stay here or rent my own apartment. I grabbed my phone from the corner and remove the charger. I looked and saw that I got three missed calls from Derek and one from Mark. Why did they call? Maybe they're just checking up on me. Or maybe tristan told them. I texted tristan and asked if he told them but he replied he didn't. I called Derek's phone to ask why he called

<a/n: this phone call starts from emily then Derek alternately>

"Hey. What's wrong?"
"Where are you?"
"At home. I'm okay Derek you don't have to worry. Can you tell Mark that I'm fine too."
"You didn't text me that you're at home so I was worried. And Mark didn't call you. It was me. I thought you'd answer to his call"
"I'm fine D"
"What time did you get home?"
"2 hours ago. Sorry I took a shower and looked for jobs online and I charged my phone so I forgot to text you"
"It's okay. At least I know you are safe"
"I am D. Good luck with your dance tonight. I'll be watching"
"Thanks. Sorry about the kiss part. Maria wanted to add it to make it more sexy"
"It's okay Derek, I'm not your girlfriend to be jealous about it"
"Yeah" his tone became low and I can tell his mood changed
"You okay?"
"Yeah. I have to go. Take care okay? And keep your phone close to you. Call me if you need anything"
"Yes Derek"

{DEREK'S POV}

She forgot? Did something happen? I looked at tristan and saw he is holding his phone texting someone. Is it Emily? Or maybe not. But what if it is. I'm acting like a jealous boyfriend again. I don't have the right to be. I left her. Maybe it's time for her to find a new partner and I trust Tristan. Anyway, Im in the sky box with Maria. They called us because we were dancing next. We did our dance and we were just waiting for the actual show. I went to my trailer before I got in I saw tristan coming out of his trailer. His trailer is just beside mine. He was holding his phone still texting. I shouted "don't text and walk it's dangerous" then smiled. He smiled back and said "I'm good thanks"
"Who's so important that you are texting while walking? I've notice you haven't put your phone down" I said with curiosity. "Emily. You know her right?" He said. "I think I know her. She lives in my house actually" I said in a sarcastic tone. "I'm just checking up on her and see if she's okay" he said. I nodded. "See you man" he said then left.

I got inside my trailer and looked at my phone. Why is emily texting him more than me? Does she like her? Maybe he does. Anyway. I called emily to check if she's alright. I called her so she can't text tristan for a while.

"Hey" I said
"Hi. What's up?"
"Not much. I'm just inside my trailer before the show starts"
"You have your own trailer?
"Yeah. It's like our dressing room."
"Wow. So you're alone there?"
"Yeah pretty much"
"Do you need anything?"
"No. I'm just checking up on you like tristan."
"Tristan? Stop spying on other people derek"
"I'm not. I just noticed that he's been busy on his phone today at rehearsal"
"Yeah he's been texting me. He said so that I won't get bored"
"That's very thoughtful of him." I heard a knock on my door
"Can you wait for a sec?" I said
"Yeah sure" I opened the door and saw Maria.
"Hey Maria"
i think emily heard me and said "ahh D, I should probably go now. I think Tristan is waiting"
"Wait"
"Call me later" she said then hang up

"Who's that?" Maria asked
"It's emily. I'm just checking up on her cause she's home alone"
"She's 20 Derek. She can take care of herself"
"I know. I just want her safe. Anyway, can I help you?"
"Uhmm I think I forgot a step in the middle of our routine just before the kiss"
"Oh yeah just this?" I showed her the moves then when I was done she came closer and suddenly kissed me. I pushed her gently
"What are you doing?"
"Kissing you" with a smile
"Why?"
"Oh cmon Derek. I know you like me. Just admit it."
"Sorry Maria"
"So who do you like? Emily?" I didn't respond"
"Well we will see who should be with you. And I'll make sure it's me" she said then left.

What just happened? I felt guilty inside making the kiss more than 3 seconds long. I should've pushed her away immediately.

{EMILY'S POV}

6 pm.
Tristan texted me and told me that the show was about the start. He told me that I have to watch because he was one of the opening dancers. I opened my tv and turn the channel. It's just beginning. After the opening dance, tristan texted me and told me how it was. I told him that it's was great. After a few dances of the pros with their celebrities, Derek and Maria are up next. They waved at the camera like they were a couple. They did they're dance. In the middle of the dance, Derek puts Maria's head on his lap then took his shirt off then he lifts Maria's head then....... They kissed... After their dance, I listened to Carrie Anne's comment she said that she thinks that the dance didn't need a kiss and the crowd had gone wild. They got their score and it was pretty good. During the commercial break, Derek texted me.. "Did you watch?". "Yeah. I did. Good job" I said. "Thanks". "But I agree to Carrie Ann though. Didn't need the kiss part but it was good" I said. "Maria wanted to put a kiss in one of the routine and it made sense cause it's Latin night". "I was just joking Derek." . "I'll be home early so you don't have to be alone at night". I said okay then he didn't reply. Because the show is on again and they were dancing.

{DEREK'S POV}

The show ended and everybody went to their trailers to change. I quickly change so that I could be home soon. I walked out my trailer and the boys were all waiting outside.
"Alright! Derek is out. Let's go!" Maks said
"Go where?" I asked them
"Well it's a celebration day remember? We all do this" he said
"Oh yeah. But I have to go home early today. Maybe next time" I said
"Cmon Derek just one or two shots then we'll go home"
"Fine!" I said then texted emily. *hey I'm coming home a bit late* she texted me back saying it's okay.

At the bar
We got some drinks and talk a little. Time flew by so fast I didn't realize. I texted emily asking how she was
"Hey. You okay there?"
"I'm fine Derek. Oh and by the way tristan is here. He said he doesn't want me alone here. He'll go when you guys arrive"
I dropped my drink after I read the text. .. They're together alone?
