Chapter 18: Karate

{Katie's POV}

I sat next to Terence and his sister beside me with her boyfriend. I was across his mom and beside her mom is Terence's older brothers. We ate dinner while Terence's father talks to his boss and wife. I looked at Terence and he was looking down his plate and I can see that he is not enjoying this dinner while all his family members are enjoying themselves.

"Are you okay?" I whispered to him
"Yeah I'm fine" he whispered back and his mom noticed us whispering.

"Emily, how have you been doing? Do you like school?" she asked
"Oh I'm doing great. The schools here is different from London" I said
"You're from London?" asked Terence's father
"Yeah I am. I just moved here a few months ago to finish my studies here" I said
"Why here?" asked his sister
"Oh cause there is going to be an internship in New York that I would like to get and they said it would be easy if I move here for the last two years of school."
"Really? that's great! Architecture as well?" asked his dad and I nodded
"How come you don't have any accent if you lived in London?" asked one of his brothers
"Uhmmm it comes and goes. I grew up not hearing accents because my parents don't have any accents at home either. The only time I hear or speak any accents is when I'm not with my family outside so yeah" I said
"Oh really? so are you and Terence dating?" asked one of the brothers to tease Terence
"We're not dating. She has a boyfriend" said Terence
"Yeah we're just friends" I added
All of them continued to talk to each other and his mother asked me to help her with the desserts. We went to the kitchen and she opened the fridge and took out a big round cheesecake. I grabbed a few plates where she pointed and piled them along the island of the kitchen.

"So are you dating Tristan?" she asked
I laughed a bit "No, I'am actually dating Derek"
"Wow I could go either way" she said
"Tristan is dating someone else" I said
"You two would make a great couple I assume but Derek is fine as well" she said

We went out of the kitchen with the desserts on our hands and going back and forth to give everyone their desserts. I sat back down on my chair. After finishing the dessert, Terence's mother invited everyone to sit in the living room for a bit of coffee. After a couple of hours talking with them, Terence tapped me on my shoulder and said that he needed to take me home before 10 so we had to leave early. I said goodbye to his parents and their guests and went outside with Terence. Before I went inside his car he stopped me.

"Thank you for coming tonight Emily. I appreciate it" he said then he hugged me
"You're welcome. I had fun" I said
"Maybe you could come every time we have a dinner with the boss again"
"I don't think Derek would like that but I'll be happy if I get invited just not every time though" I said
"I know. I know" he said and he opened the passenger's car door

We finally arrived in front of Mark and Derek's house.

"Thanks again Emily" he said
"You're welcome. Good night Terence" I said
"Good night Emily" he said and kissed me on my cheeks. It was just a friendly kiss so I didn't mind it. I went outside and waved good bye as he went on his way. I went inside and up to my room. I quickly changed and went to Derek's room. I went inside and saw him watching a movie.

"Hi baby. How's the dinner?" he said sitting up and walking towards me
"It was alright. How are you?"
"I'm great. How are you?" he said and kissed my forehead.
"I'm great. Can I sleep here tonight? I miss you" I said
"Of course you can! You can sleep here any time you like babe" he said. I lay on the bed next to him with his arms around me. He gently placed a kissed on my lips and I kissed him back. His hands slowly scanned down my waist on stopped on my butt. I grabbed his face and continued to kissed his lips. His hands gradually went inside my shirt and went up to my bra. He was about to open it but I stopped him. I looked in his blue eyes and he said "I know but at least sleep in a comfortable state." he said jokingly. I let him undo my bra and I took it out. He continued to kiss my while he was his hands sliding up and down my back.

{Derek's POV}
The next morning, I woke with Emily sleeping on my chest. She's so beautiful even if she's asleep. I kissed her forehead and slowly stood up without waking her up. I wanted to cook her breakfast before I go to rehearsals today. I went downstairs and started to cook some breakfast. I'm almost done when I heard my door open and Emily walking down the stairs. She was walking towards the kitchen while scratching her pretty little eyes.

"Good morning my love!" I said
"Good morning baby. How's your sleep?" she said with her morning voice
"It was the best. and stop being adorable and come here" I said and she went closer and I kissed her forehead.
"What are you doing? Do you have rehearsals today?"
"I'm cooking you breakfast and yes I do"
"Awe thanks babe. What time do you finish rehearsals?"
"About 3pm I guess. Why?"
"Nothing I just want to know. So you'll be home by 4?"
"Yeah I think so why?"
"Nothing"
"What is it?"
"Nothing. I'm planning something later so don't be late"
"Alright" I said smiling

I went to the rehearsal studio and when I opened the door I saw Maria talking to Shawn while the camera is on. I haven't seen Maria ever since the finale and I don't want to see her after what she did to Emily. I just have to act like I'm happy to see her in front of the camera because if I flip out on her, they will use it for the show.

"and here is the master itself. Derek How are you?" said Shawn
"I'm good! I see you have company here" I said
"How are you Derek?" said Maria and I'm mentally stopping myself from slapping her. I still have respect for her but I can't look at her the same way again.
"I'm great! How have you been? Taking karate lessons lately?" I said and she looked at me because she knows what i'm talking about
"I'm good. I want to try though. Actually I had a practice fight one time and of course I won" she said and my blood just rushed through my veins as she smiles
"Is she okay though?" asked Shawn
"A little bruised but I think she can still walk. Next time maybe I won't let her walk" she said then laughed. Shawn just laughed because she thought that she was only joking.
"Alright! We need to start rehearsing" I said and pulled Shawn in the middle of the room.

Maria stayed for the whole rehearsal and even bought us food but I didn't eat the food she bought. After a few hours, we finally finished the dance and started to pack up our stuff so we can leave. Maria stood up and said

"Are you guys done? Is it a little too early?"
"Oh I have some interviews and stuff to take care of so we have to finish early" said Shawn
"Ohh how about you Derek?" asked Maria
"Oh I have date with Emily. She wants me to come home early" I said with a smile
"Oh that's sweet" said Shawn and hugged me good bye. All that are left is Maria and I in the studio

"A date huh? is she feeling better after that little surprise I did to her?" she said
"You have no idea how badly I wanted to call the cops" I said in annoyance
"But you didn't right? because you're precious little angel is too scared. I told you Derek she's not the one for you"
"And you think you're the one for me? I mean look at you compare to Emily. No offence but I would rather be single for the rest of my life than to date you." I said and walked away leaving her in the studio. I went to my car and start to drive back home. I stopped by the flower shop and got Emily a bouquet of roses to surprise her when I come home.

I parked my car in the garage and went inside. I saw Emily on the couch and saw her jumped out of her seat when she heard me come home. She ran towards me and kissed me on the lips. I hugged her after the kiss.

"So I have something planned tonight okay? First we watch a movie in my room because it's still early for dinner then while you take a bath and change, which by the way I laid some clothes on your bed, I set up the basement for a little something. Okay?" she said in excitement which made me excited.
"Alright my angel. I'm looking forward to it" I said and kissed her again.
