Chapter 31: Partying

[London]

{Emily's POV}

Derek will arrive any minute now. I wait anxiously beside my brothers, tapping my feet on the ground. I don't know why I'm nervous seeing him again. I know it's only been days since we saw each other but this time we're back together again and I've forgotten how it felt to be with him as his girlfriend. As time goes by, I pace back and forth in front of my brothers.

"Emily! are you okay?" Gavin asked.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" I asked

"Well mainly because you can't stop moving ever since we got here" he said

"I'm sorry. I don't know why I'm nervous." I said

"You're just excited to see him that's all" Ricky
told me

A few seconds later, I heard my name from across the hall. I turned around and it was Derek. I couldn't help myself from running towards him. I jumped onto his arms and I felt his warm hug once again. I felt secure knowing he's here with me. He put me down from my hug and kissed me on the lips. I felt a slight tingling in my stomach. I missed his soft lips. I felt whole again.
Our kissed was interrupted by my brothers pulling me off of Derek.

"Okay that's enough. You may be his girlfriend but you're still our baby sister so I can't keep watching you smooch with my best friend" Gavin said. Derek and I chuckled and I let them hug him.

"It's so nice to see you again man!" Ricky said

"You too Ricky! How long has it been?" Derek asked

"Too long brotha" said Gavin.

They started talking about work, girlfriends, sports and all that stuff. I was just happy following them towards the car. Both Gavin and Ricky brought their own cars in case Derek's luggage wouldn't fit into one car. Ricky's car is small cause it's a sports car so we ended up putting all Derek's luggage into Gavin's car. My brother handed me his keys because he wanted Derek and I to spend a little time together before my family consume all his attention. I get into the car and Derek got into the passengers side.

"You know how to drive this?" Derek asked

"Yeah. I drove this while I was in high school. When my brothers were in college, I was their designated driver. I pick them up every time"

"Wow. I didn't know that"

"Well now you know" I smiled

"How about when you party?" he asked

"I hardly ever go to parties. My weekend consists mostly of reading, watching tv shows and/or eating"

"Wow! I thought you were wild like your brothers" he said and chuckled

"I was.." but then I remembered why I stopped. I didn't want Derek to know so I just changed the topic. "I didn't like the party life" I said as an excuse but I guess Derek is more observant than I thought cause he didn't buy it.

"Really?" a suspicious look is now plastered on his face when I looked at him. I nodded and speeded through the high way.

I can feel Derek getting nervous of the speed so I slowed down a bit.

"Sorry, I thought you want to know how fast this gets" I said

"No, no I do! but I am uncomfortable.." he said but I cut him off

"with me behind the wheel?" I smiled

"No it's not that" he laughed.

I start increasing the speed and I feel a slow grin forming on my face, trying to make him uncomfortable again for not trusting me but I think it's not working because I can see him smiling.

"Now you like it?" I asked and he nodded.

I can see that he is enjoying the ride so I continued to speed. I slowed down once we get to our neighbourhood. Good thing Derek forgot about what I said earlier about partying. We were almost at my house when he spoke once again.

"So about you partying?" he said

"What about it?" I asked acting like I forgot the whole thing.

"You said you liked partying but you just stopped? I don't buy it" he said shaking his head.

"It's nothing Derek. Forget about it" I said

"I thought you trust me?"

"I do. Okay, I'll tell you later" I said as an excuse as we arrive at my place. I stopped the car and turned it off. He would probably forget about it once he talks to my family so I wouldn't have to deal with it again.

We left the car and went inside the house. When we got there, my parents are sitting on the couch watching a movie then both of them looked at us and smiled instantly.

"Derek!" my mom shouted. She quickly got up to hug him and my dad shook his hand after.

"How are you Kate?" Derek asked my mom.

"Good! You?"

"Pretty good" he answered

My parents talked to Derek the whole time while we wait for my brothers with Derek's luggage. When my brothers got here, they brought Derek's things in my room. We do have a guest bedroom but it is currently being occupied by my oldest brother and his girlfriend. My mom turned his room into an office when he left so the only rooms that still has a bed is my parents, my older brother, my room and the guest room.

Derek carried one of his luggage upstairs not knowing where he would stay. I opened the door to my room. He went inside and dropped his luggage on the floor along with the rest of his things. My brother knocked on the door and asked if we wanted to come with them to the mall. I looked at Derek and he looked so tired from his travel so I said no so he can rest. My brother nodded and closed my door.

My brothers went to the mall to meet with their girlfriends. My parents probably stayed downstairs to finish their movie. I looked at Derek now sitting on my bed and sat beside him.

"Hey! I know you're tired. You can sleep if you want" I told him

"I'm good. I just missed you" he said and hugged me. I can feel his warm embrace and I buried my head on his chest.

"I missed you too Derek"

Our hug lasted for about 2 minutes when he broke it.

"Wait! you still have a story to tell me" he said

I was hoping he would not remember about it but I guess I have to tell him what happened now. I released a deep sigh and started

"It all began when I met Blake"
