"Dad?" My daughter ran over to me. "Please tell me she's alive?" Hope asked me with pleading eyes. "Girls." I nudged my head towards the kitchen. My granddaughter stood slowly and walked through with me. "Sit down." They all looked sick with worry. Damon stood at the door watching.

"Your mum did everything to protect the two of you and Hope." I begin. "Just cut the crap... she's dead." Stefanie said. I swallowed the lump in my throat. "She's, yes, she's passed." The youngest face turned to stone, no glassy glaze over her brown eyes that reminded me so much of her mother, she had no expression. Hope walked away sobbing and she went straight to her room. "I got her" Hayley says going after our daughter. "Eliana?" She had reacted it was as if she was already numb coming into this conversation. She didn't respond to her name. "Eli?" Damon came over and held her hand. "How does a mother kill her child?" She asked a question Arabella asked a lot over the years.

"Being a mother doesn't make you a mum." Damon told his oldest. "I want to see her." I closed my eyes at her request. "Theres no body." "Then take me home!" She demanded. "Eli we're going to st-"Take me home dad!" She said firmer this time. "Stop being such a brat for once! Mums dead! Get over it." Stefanie said standing and going back into the family room. "How is she okay with this." "She's not, you know what she's like Eli." Damon tried.

"Why didn't you try and stop her? Why didn't you do something!" She said no lashing out at her dad. "She was your wife, you're meant to protect her." "I was protect you. She was protecting you." "You're nothing... You're not a man! You couldn't protect her! You never deserved her!" She shouted at her dad pain was lacing her words as she spat them out like poison in attempt t make him feel what she was feeling. "Eliana." I warned her. "And you... you're meant to be her dad... oh wait that was act right. Because you're not her father and you never will be! As long as hope is safe you don't care about my mum. You used her as a baby sitter for Hope to make sure she didn't go off the rails. I went without my mum so you could have an easy life! You say you loved her but she sacrificed her life to save you and you just stood and watched as FRICKING HELLL FIRE ATE HER UP!" "Eliana Enough," Her father warned her. "You're a tyrant. Both of you. Neither of you deserved mum. You should have both died instead of her. She's worth a million of you both!" She screamed. "I hate you!" She said to her dad. "I will always hate you for not saving her!"

Everyone was stood in the arch of the dinning room watching it unfold. "Eli." Bonnie went after the anger and emotional teenager to avoid anything from happening to her. Damon took a deep breath before turning around to look at me. He looked defeated. Like he had given up.

DAMON'S POV

I sat with Bonnie outside Eli's and Stef's rooms at the Mikealson's. They were both having a moment, things were being thrown around screams where being let out. Lights were flickering. Bonnie said it was better to let them get it all out. They weren't okay... they were both close to their mother. Eli especially they had a strong connection. Stefanie had it when she was younger but she was going through her rebellious teenager stage at the moment so both of us got pushed away.

"What am I meant to do?" I asked looking across at Bonnie. She was positioned in front of Eli's door holding it shut. I was sat in front of Stefanie's holding the door shut. In case they decided to set this whole place on fire. "Just be there for them." "I don't know how... Bella was always their emotional support. Their magical support they-"You're their dad too... You've been there for the girls more times than they'll remember." I couldn't look at her. She looked tired and she was hurting I could see it in her eyes.

"I promised Bella I'd send her somewhere before she died... I didn't she died alone with her mother who has been hurting her since the minute she was born." I say looking down the hall. No one was listening everyone dealing with their own pain. Lizzie nearly threw a knife at Stefan by accident early today when she found out and it all sunk in. Maybe a kitchen wasn't the best place to tell her that her aunt had passed.
