Freya pulls away with a smile on her lips and the others girls too but looking more tired than the 1000 year old witch. I hold both my girls up and lead them to sit down on the bed.
"What now?" Klaus asked his sister as he sat his daughter down. "We wait." "For what?" "For her to cross over. Find her body." "She was here." Stefan said. "I saw her." "Maybe it was just grief baby." Care said to him. "No I saw her too." Kol said. "She was here? Perfect then she shouldn't be long." Klaus said.
"I'm tried dad... can I sleep now?" My youngest asked. "Yes baby..." She rested her head on my lap her short black hair laid out for me to easily stroke in a comforting way to calm her.
Morning rolled around then afternoon and night fell again. We all sat around in Bonnie's spear bedroom waiting for something to happen. The girls were still asleep from the early hours of this morning. Freya was in and out along with Bonnie and Davina. Who knew magic could be so draining. Actually I did, it nearly killed Bella a few times and it has killed Bonnie more times than I could count at this point. Both my girls heads were on my lap their bodies laid over their uncle and aunt as they sleep peacefully.
Klaus didn't leave his daughters side, Hayley sat with her arm rested on the coffin looking at Elle as she slept, I preferred to refer to it that way it sounds less aggressive than dead. Stefan cradled his daughter in his arm Care holding Josie close to her as she also slept. It was a tight squeeze on the bed and chairs but we made it work. Families do.
My eyes begin to feel heavy as I fight with them to stay open. I didn't want to fall asleep and miss something. The last moments of my wife life or the first moments of her entering thee real world again. I wanted to be there for it. But I couldn't fight it any longer, the owl cooing from the neighbouring tree of the house and the street lights glowing through the partly opened curtains creating the perfect space to just let sleep take over and let the feeling go.
Of course I dreamt about my wife, who wouldn't. She was perfect. I dreamt about our family what life would have been like if we didn't turn. If Katherine never showed up if our parents weren't abusive cunts. If we were loved.
I pictured our house by the lake. Our two girls in their pretty dresses running around the garden getting chased by their big brother who would have been here if Edmond didn't feel the need to rid us of his life. I picture going on horse rides with my family and picnics in the fields filled with wild flowers. I pictured them all happy and unharmed. Emotionally and Physically.
I pictured Stefan and the twins. He'd entitably have a family... he'd come over on Sundays for family brunch. I painted this perfect life for us in my dreams which was far from the truth right now, dark skies and painful tears is all that filled reality.
"Damon, Damon wake up." I felt my body being shaken and I slowly opened my eyes. Kol was looked at me. "What?" I stretched not wanting to wake my girls. He nudged his head. I slid off the small bed laying the girls in each others arms before going to the others around Bella's coffin.
I peered in and smiled at the sight. Her beautiful face gaining it's colour again, her rosey plumb lips and freckled littered cheeks rid of the grey dull look they once held. I looked up at Stefan who was across from me and he smiled at me. "She's a fighter." "Always has been, that's her problem." We all looked to the door frame.
"Brother?" Klaus gasped. "Elijah!" Bex ran to him and engulfed him in a hug. Was I still dreaming. "How is this even possible?" Hayley joined the hug. "You have our Ari to thank for that." He said coming in. "Is this little Hope?" He asked looking over Hope how was laid with Josie. "Yeah." "She's grown into a fine young women."
"What happened?" Bonnie asked looking at Bella again. I looked back to make sure she was still okay and she was, the grey was still draining. "Arabella is never one for following a plan... You all know her by now." He said coming over, her brushed her hair back. "Nor is she one for taking No as an answer." "She's still safe?" Bex asked holding onto Bella's hand. "She's-" He looked over his shoulder at the five sleeping girls. "She's-" He looked at me. "She's alive, sane? I'm not too sure of that one just yet."
