STEFANIE'S POV

Pop, Pop sat we me as we went through the old photos he had of mum... we were going to have a goodbye ceremony. There was no body so we couldn't have a proper funeral but I needed to say goodbye to her properly. Maybe Eli wasn't ready just yet but I wasn't one for dragging pain out... I feel it I fix it I move on. Though I think this one will hurt for a while.

I lost my mum, my best friend and one of my protectors. "What about this one?" Klaus pulled out a photo it was folded at the edges. "This was in the 1910... we had a ball to attend... your mother didn't want to go." "But you made her?" "Aunty Bex actually." He said with a smile. I took the photo. "She's so pretty." I say, she wore a blue dress, like the sky, and it had white pearls for detailing. Her hair was all tucked away in a bun of some sorts. "Yeah she is." He said with a smile admiring the picture.

"What was she like then?" I asked wanting to know more. She never really spoke about her passed before us. "She was..." He smiled almost chuckling to himself. "She was feisty, she didn't enjoy unwanted male attention and she made it known." I smiled nodding along. "We were at a bar... Me Your mother Bex and uncle Elijah." I nodded "She knocked a man out with a single punch because he grabbed her butt." My mouth fell open and I giggled a little. "But she was caring, she helped him after..." "What was she like before she-"Turned?" I nodded. "She was scared, she was timid and broken." "Broken?" "Your mother didn't have the best life." "But her parents ran the town." He nodded. "They weren't good to her... you can imagine that. I mean you saw what her mother did." I nodded not wanting to think about it.

"She was running through the woods and Bex found her, they connected instantly and she trusted her, so she followed her... she was heart broken she thought Uncle Stef and Your dad were dead." My eyes widened. "They really haven't told you any of this?" I shake my head. "Bad stuff really was off the table for you girls." "It's all fairytales and rainbows." I joked. We knew certain stuff but some things were harder for mum to talk about and getting dad to talk about anything was like trying to push a round balder up a steep hill. "It's a whole story, I'll fill you in some other time... But Aunty Bex got her to us and Elijah tried to wipe some blood off your mothers dress and she kicked his Butt and proceeded to kick Uncle Kols after." I smiled. "Mum was a badass." He nodded. "That was the only time I saw her fight for years, she never really got aggressive." I nodded this time still listening. "She would win fights with her words or the fact she was so unbothered about being hit or thrown about normally angered the enemy more than if she was to fight back... she was graceful and polite. Caring and soft gentle." He pulled another photo out of the large trunk. "Here, this was our first official family portrait." He handed me a photo. Aunt Bex and Mother looked like princess in beautiful gowns, mums hair was so longer curled to perfection. I ran my finger across her face. Uncle Kol and Elijah were stood either side of the girls in suits and then Pop, Pop was stood behind them hands on each of their shoulders. They all looked the same as they did now. Pop, Pop looked a little harsher in the photo, he was a teddy bear in real life.

"And this was her first Vampire birthday." "Wow." "We went all out." He smirked. "A ball?" "She hated it but she endured it for us..." "Will we ever see her again?" I asked him and he paused. "I mean she brought you back... and Bonnie. Why can't Freya bring her back?" "Hell fire is a little different," "Why?" "Stefanie I really-"Tell me?" "She didn't have the chance to find peace, or get to a different dimension like Bonnie and I did." "So what?" "She's in hell my love." "But she was a good person." He nodded. "She was... she was the best of us all but she's no saint." I chewed my lip. "She's murdered people to protect herself and her family... She murder my mother 5 minutes after giving birth... the all mighty creator doesn't care that she was a good person or had good intensions." "She doesn't deserve to be there!" I snapped. He reached for my hand and held it softly. "She doesn't but she did the right thing to keep you girls safe... Do you know what your parents, what we all would have felt like losing the two of you? Your mother wouldn't have been the same. I promise." "I wish she was here to tell me it was going to be okay."
