two months before the collapseEven when you think you should give up, there is always someone who's worth to live.
Even when you think it's over, there's always someone in the back of your head that you constantly think about. And you think, what would happen if I die? Would they care?
"Your friend called you." Ashton declared as he entered in the room again with a phone in his hand, which Louis recognized as his own.
"Or should I say boyfriend? I still didn't get all of this stuff," he said, sitting in front of Louis again. "Maybe I should just say partner, right? I'll go with partner, yeah."
"Don't..." Louis tried to speak but no words came out. His mouth was dry and he was exhausted, the words were just stuck.
Stupid words.
"What? I can't hear you?" The tall man said getting closer.
"Don't you...touch—" Louis breathed.
"Or what?" Ashton chuckled. "You're gonna kick my ass? Oh, let me remind you that you're stuck in a chair."
"He doesn't....have....anything to do...with this." Louis continued panting.
"Well, he kinda works with you right? So yeah, maybe I should kill him too." he shrugged.
"Just...let him..."
"If you want me to leave him alone, then you should tell me what I want to know." Ashton shrugged.
"I don't...know."
"You're pissing me off Louis" The man declared. "You think you're gonna get out of here alive? You think that by not telling me I'm gonna let you go? You're dead anyway!"
Louis didn't answer at that, just stared at the ground breathing heavily, trying to think. Truth is, he knew Ashton was right. Or at least, in part. If his department found him, he was going to go through a long recovery, but eventually he would make it. But, they could arrive late and find him dead, that was a possibility too, but it was also that kind of things he agreed when he accepted to become an agent.
So all he could do was wait.
Wait and hope, but when you have a life like his, hope is the first thing to die.
"I don't know...where it is you...dickhead." Louis almost whispered.
"What would you loose huh?" Ashton asked, completely ignoring Louis' confession. "You're a dead man, and your department knows that, that's why they won't even find you," He continued, like he was reading his mind. "They'll stop looking, what do you think? That you're the only agent they have? That you're the best one?"
Louis didn't answer at that. He didn't know what to say. He didn't know how he was gonna survive because, for what it was worth, Ashton was right once again. He wasn't the only agent, and he wasn't certainly the best one.
"Look," Ashton sighed. "I'm being really patient with you, but you're being a little bitch and I won't take it anymore," he declared getting up. "I'm giving you so much chances Louis, and you're wasting all of them."
"I'm not." Louis breathed out.
"Yes you are! Hell look at you!" He shouted. "You can't even form a sentence! You're useless! You know, I'm this close to put a bullet in your head." he declared gesturing with his hand.
Louis didn't even look at him, showing that he had no intention to talk, so Ashton sighed before turning around and heading out of the room.
"California." Louis suddenly said, to both his and Ashton surprise.
"What?"
"It's in...California. There's this man...James Brown. He knows..." Louis explained.
"How do I know that you're not lying?" Ashton asked, and Louis felt relieved because he seemed to believe it.
"You don't have...a choice." Louis whispered.
"Neither do you."
"Neither do I." Louis repeated.
"If you're lying Tomlinson, I swear to God." Ashton threatened.
Louis sighed in relief, but his enemy seemed to notice, because he started laughing. "Oh don't think you're free, you're coming with us. You know I've always had trust issues," he declared. Ashton got closer to Louis again, just to stare at him for a few seconds before declaring. "We leave tomorrow." and shutting the door behind him.

Louis tried. He really tried. But at this point, there was nothing else he could do. If Ashton brought him with him in California, Louis was going to die. And he wasn't even exaggerating, because of course he wouldn't tell his enemy where the USB was, so he just made up a name.
And damn, everything was just so complicated.
"So," Ashton started. "I'm gonna untie you and you are going to fall on the ground because you have no strength at all, so I'm gonna put you in a car and see if you can survive 'till we arrive in California."
And then it hit him.
Ashton was so sure of himself, that maybe he didn't expect Louis to do something. And Louis didn't neither. But something snapped in him that made him wrap his legs around Ashton's neck who was trying to untie his feet. The man immediately gasped for air as he tried to move in every way possible. But Louis didn't let go. Rather, he used all of the strength that was left in his body that, for his conditions, was way more than he expected.
Suddenly, he started hearing loud noises from the other side of the door. Shooting, but it didn't made him let go, and eventually the man stopes moving. Stopped breathing.
But Louis being the good agent he was, didn't let go immediately, knowing he might be faking it.The door suddenly opened, revealing what he had been expecting for the past week.
The curly boy.
