*I'll tell you when to play the song :)*

{Victoria's/Skylar's POV}

"You are good to go home, Victoria." The doctor, said smiling at me. "Thank you, for everything." He nodded, "Of course, just doing my job." He patted my back gently.

Marcus grabbed my bags, not wanting to strain my body too much. I haven't seen or spoken to Derek since yesterday. I feel guilty and awful, but it's hard to explain. I'm still attached to Marcus, I think I always will be. I ran away, and he was there. He made sure I got by. He was a runaway but he still looked out for me. He made sure that I was safe from my family. He knew what they did, and he tried his very best never to raise his voice at me.

He had seen me have one of my flashback things multiple times, and he didn't judge me. I know Derek is an amazing guy, and I love him. But I don't know if I was in love with him. Marcus knew me better than anyone, he never failed to see the good in me. He never gave up.

"Do you.. do you and Belle wanna stay over? I don't have much a pretty bad apartment, but I don't want you guys to leave yet." Marcus smiled, nodding. "What do you say, Belle? Wanna stay at Mommy's?" She nodded excitedly. "I like mommy, she's cool." I laughed lightly. "Thank you."

"Just... don't expect too much, it's not the best apartme-" "Sky, it's okay, stop worrying. It's just us." Marcus offered me a warming smile, making my nerves ease. I unlocked the door, walking in.

"Oh baby, it's not even bad. We've lived in worse." Marcus was quick to comfort my insecurities about my living space. "Woah! Daddy look! She has ice cream!" Belle said from the kitchen. "Is she allowed to have ice cream?" I asked quietly. He nodded. "Belle why don't you bring the ice cream out, we can all have some!"

"Can we have a dance party? Play that one song, Daddy! You said it's the song that played when you met mommy!" I turned to Marcus, "Oh it didn't just play, Daddy performed it for me." I giggled, making Marcus glare at me. "We don't talk about those dark times." I laughed at his embarrassment, but he played the song nonetheless.

*this is me telling you to play the song Downtown Girl by Hot Chelle Rae*

"She's a weekend beauty queen," the lyrics blared through the Bluetooth speaker, causing Belle to jump up and down, spinning around. Marcus and I worked on moving the coffee table so we didn't have any cracked skulls.

"I smell that sweet perfume, making rounds around the room, cause she's a downtown girl!" Marcus sang along, twirling Belle around. I laughed, my smile making my cheeks ache. "Her lips are red, and those hips are turning head cause she's a downtown girl, a downtown girl!" Marcus sang to me, to which I started dancing, striking a funny pose. Belle's laughter filled the air.

I kept my dancing quite simple, not wanting to tear the stitches on my stomach.

Everything has been great, and this was the first birthday I was looking forward to. Derek and I weren't on speaking terms, but we were okay. We saw each other often actually, the tea was still my friend group, and he was part of the team. We were civil with each other. He knows I'm sorry, and he knows that I didn't mean for it to turn out this way.

Marcus and Belle were over for the weekend to celebrate my birthday, which is today. "Mommy! Happy birthday!" I turned on my back, Bella jumping up on the bed. I giggled, my hands sliding over my face. "Good morning, baby." The groggy voice behind me mumbled. "Daddy! You said that we would make her breakfast in bed! It's already 7:30 why aren't you up?"
