{Victoria's POV}
My eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to the sunlight streaming into the room. I heard the shower stop, making me glance at the door that was about to open. I stretched across the bed, causing me to make a weird whimper sound, before curling back into a ball.
"You alright, gorgeous?" Derek asked, slipping a shirt on. "No. It's cold without you." I murmured, pulling the covers over my shoulders. "Sorry, but I gotta job to attend to, my love." I pouted, waiting for my kiss.
He walked over to me, squatting down so he was level to face. "Did you sleep well, baby?" His voice was soft, his hand brushed back a few strands of hair that had fallen out of my bun. I shrugged, leaning into his touch. "Are you sure you can't stay any longer?" He looked at me, his eyes becoming soft.
"I wish I could, angel. But I'll be here tonight, hopefully earlier than last night." I nodded, leaning in to kiss him. "You don't make it easy for me to go." He mumbled against the kiss. "You need to go. You're gonna be late." I encouraged. "You want me to stay and now you want me to leave."
I giggled, shaking my head. "I'll always want you to stay, but you do have a job to do." I said, getting up and walking towards my suitcase he brought over. "Keep that hoodie, looks better on you." I rolled my eyes looking back at him. "You just like it cause there's easy access to my ass." He shrugged his shoulders smirking, "that's a bonus, babygirl."
~ later that morning ~
Derek has left about an hour ago, and I decided to get dressed and get him coffee.
I decided to get the whole team coffee, wanting to get on their good side. I balanced the cups in my hands, struggling to walk into the police station.I focused on walking towards a large table, and not tripping. "Someone special is here Derek." I heard a lady's voice say, as I placed the cups on the table. I looked up seeing all of them looking at me. "Hi! I was getting Derek coffee and I thought I might as well get some for y'all." I smiled politely.
A blonde lady smiled back, grabbing a cup. "I approve Derek." She said, she made her way around the table, and stuck her hand out. "I'm Jennifer, but please, call me JJ." I shook her hand, smiling. "Victoria, a pleasure to meet you. Again." I shook everyone's hand. This was a better impression than the time they helped me with Alexander.
Now they're helping my sister with Kyle. "I beat Victoria at chess 4 times." Spencer boasted. "No, no. I let you win." I tutted, a giggle following. I glanced at Derek, his eyes had a sparkle in them. I smiled, making my way over to him.
"Hey babygirl." He said, taking a sip of his coffee. "Good morning, my love." I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. "You okay?" I shrugged. "As good as I can be in this situation." I murmured. "She's a keeper, Derek." Emily said, cheering her coffee cup towards us. I smiled at her, before looking back at Derek. "Sorry to end this, but we need to go." Hotch said, putting papers in a pile. I unwrapped my arms from around Derek, kissing his cheek.
"Be safe." I said. I didn't know where he was going but I knew I wanted him to come back in one piece. "Always am." He replied, kissing my forehead gently. "I'll see you back at the hotel." I said, waving at him.
~ 2 hours later ~
My phone rang, waking my up from my nap. "H-Hey Tori, I need you to come over." My sister's voice said through the phone. He voice was shaking. "Is everything okay?" I asked, rolling out of bed. "I wouldn't be asking you to come if it was." She sniffed, my heart sunk into my stomach. "I'll be there soon." I rushed.
I slipped on my uggs, leaving the with sweats and a sweatshirt on.
I was anxious the whole car ride there. I treated and felt that Danny and Kyle were my own. My own little angels. I pulled into their driveway, practicing sprinting out of the car and into their home. I saw Emily their, Danny had a solemn look on his face, his parents, sobbing. I felt the lump in my throat already starting to form.I looked towards Emily and her face held a look of sympathy. "I'm sorry, Victoria. But, his body was found." I felt everything freeze. I shook my head, tears already spilling onto my cheeks. "No." I whispered. That's all that came out before I screamed. My legs gave out, causing me to crumble into a ball on the floor. I gripped my hair, trying to wrap my head around the fact that my little angel, was truly an angel now.
I struggled to breathe, the lump in my throat only making it harder. Sob after sob racked through me, I knew I looked like a mess, most likely traumatizing the only child in the room. But I couldn't bring myself up from this grave that dug itself.
I laid there, I didn't know how long, but the next thing I knew Derek was above me. I was in a different room, on a couch. "Baby, Victoria, can you hear me? I need you to breathe." I looked up at him, trying to talk, but all that came out was a whimper. My chest felt tight, my throat feeling like it was closing in.
"I-I c-can't breathe." I panicked. "Victoria, look at me. Focus on the sound of my voice." I tried to breathe, tried to focus, but I couldn't. I shook my head, tears starting to fall as I shut my eyes. "Hey, hey, breathe with me okay? In... out. In..... and out." I hiccuped as I tried to breathe with him.
"Count with me alright? 1.. 2.." "3... 4..." I took in a deep breath, my lungs starting to relax after gaining oxygen. "That's it, angel. Just like that." I felt his thumb running across my cheek. I took another deep breath, the new found oxygen helping me calm down. JJ walked into the room, handing everyone files.
"Turn to page 2." She mumbled, looking back at me. "Did you guys find the... ya know." I whispered. They all looked around at each other. "Derek?" I asked, looking at him. "Uhm, Victoria, you're not gonna like who we found." I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion. "I'll hate them regardless. That son of a bitch deserves hell and I'm gonna give it them." I said, anger bubbling within me.
"Danny." Derek said, almost silently. I scoffed. "I'm supposed to believe that Danny, killed Kyle?" I said bitterly. "Danny shoved plane parts down Kyle's throat." Rossi said, quietly. "Someone needs to tell Emily."
"No. No that can't be. He's just a little boy." I shoved Derek's hand away when he reached to hold mine.
"You're lying."
