Suna watched as you ran away from him, tears streaming dow__n your cheeks, sick in the rain. If only he had been better. He didn’t want this to happen. He never wanted you to leave crying. So why…. Why didn’t he be nicer? His feet moved without him thinking, he wanted to move, sure, but he just ran. But how did this start? Well, let’s rewind.

Suna didn’t like to show it, but he loved you so much. Hugs from behind, kisses, things like that were common for the boy. What was also very common was that he was blunt or too shy, which hurt your feelings sometimes, here’s an example

“Hey Rin, do you want to try these cupcakes I made? I’m improving!” you smiled, offering the pan you made from the cooking club, who were teaching you how to bake. His eyes darted down to the pan. After a few seconds he shifted to pick one up, holding it in his hand. The boy was sitting with the rest of his team at lunch, biting into the cupcake he chewed, swallowing soon after.

“It’s dry, needs a little less sugar, and overall needs improvement,” he told you honestly. You felt your heart breaking slightly, feeling the sting of his words, none of encouragement.  The smile on your face grew, but not because you were happy, but because you were hurt.

“Ah, thanks Rin, I’ll go try again, let me bring these back down to the cooking room,” you strained a smile, grip tightening like a vice on the cupcake pan. Turning around, you walked at a normal pace, but as soon as you closed the door to the classroom, you ran down the hallway, tears burning in your eyes.

“Suna, that wasn’t very nice, they seemed super bothered by that,” Kita scolded, seeing the boy going back in to bite the cupcake again, a huge blush on his cheeks.

“They’re fine, this is really good… something about everything that they make is so tasty,” he brushed Kita off, scrunching his legs into his chest, finishing the cupcake, savouring the flavor, blush intensifying.

“Well then you should tell them that, you might hurt their feelings and not be able to fix it, so be careful, they’re fragile,” Osamu commented, chewing onto an onigiri.

“For once, Osamu’s right, you gotta treat your significant other like royalty,” Atsumu agreed, trying to steal some of Osamu’s food, which made him give you a death glare.

This is where everything started to unravel.

The two of you were at Suna’s house and you cooked your favorite meal, having a small date with Suna. The boy came up and nuzzled his head into your neck, breathing in your scent. A giggle escaped your lips, bringing the food from the counter and to the table. The boy followed you close behind, tiredness in his eyes showing that he was sleepy. Suna and you sat down next to each other and started eating the yummy food, his face eased into one of happiness, loving all of your cooking and baking. A huge grin spread across your face as he ate the food slowly, enjoying each bite. You ate your food quickly, a contrast to Suna’s slow eating, you hadn’t eaten anything all day, and he was tired. Getting up, you went back over to the stove, grabbing a second serving to fill your daily nutritional value.

The boy, in his sleepy state, was not in the right mindset, and forgot that you hadn’t eaten anything that day and commented on it, “You’re eating a lot, you might not fit into your uniform if you eat too much.”

Another arrow, straight into your self confidence. Tears welled into your eyes as you shifted uncomfortably, hiding your discomfort with a smile, “I know. I didn’t eat anything today.”
