Mikansei stared out across the sky, watching as it acted like a canvas, starting off blank and empty, before it became painted with the many colours of the sunrise. She had never really understood hope or truly carried it with her, in her life, but looking out over the brilliant painting the sky made for itself, she could contemplate the idea of it bringing hope to the people who saw it. Seeing the beauty of it all and realising that things could be better today. Good things could happen, and inspire them to start the good things off.
But like she had said...she had never truly carried it with her.
A few more minutes passed and Mikansei remained where she was, sitting on her roof and gazing over the surrounding area. It wouldn't be long until Tanju would truly start her day off, but considering she barely slept as it was, she had a little while left to breathe in the silence and admire the way things were and always would be with nature. It was something she had always admired ever since she was young. Nature always took the most beautiful parts of itself and kept them the same, merely evolving over the years, and would continue to do so forever.
Maybe it was because Mikansei herself had never experienced the same sort of thing; true, there were things that would remain the same...but they were things that didn’t show any beauty in her life. They were the things she wished would disappear, instead being the way things would always be, never allowing her to escape or be free. But it was just a habit for her, what she had always done through her life, and with her immortality, would most likely continue without a break. She couldn’t remember a time when Tanju hadn’t been present, memories of her parent’s mere flashes in a background of loneliness and apathy.
Abruptly she sensed Tanju approach, and closing her eyes, she transported herself cloud-style into her room, setting herself up surrounded by books and scrolls as if she had been reading for hours. He knew she didn’t really sleep anymore, but as Mikansei was able to remember things easily and recount them word for word, he never really realised that sitting around reading and training was all she did in her spare time. Standing as he entered and bowing, she kept her head low and remained silent as he greeted her in reply, only speaking when he asked a few questions. It was her own job to grab snacks when she needed them now food was no longer a necessity, and it was questions like those that Tanju asked; apart from that, he didn’t care.
Once he had found out what he needed to know, he gestured for her to leave the room and head outside, and bowing once again, she did so. What type of training he would focus on today, she didn’t know, but he always picked one and repeated forms of a certain element. A two minute break would come every now and again, allowing her to grab a little bit of food or rest for a moment, before she would have to begin again, starting this time with a new element.
The ninja arts came easily to Mikansei, and combined with her clan’s natural abilities it made her a fearful opponent; but it wasn’t this that exhausted her. There were times when everyone got out of breath; when they had to rest for a time—a time that was longer than just a couple of minutes. But instead Tanju merely forced her on, with the same things over and over again up to the point where she could do no more. Only it didn’t end; he would tell her to do something new and expect her to get it perfectly right and as fast as possible when it was a miracle that she could even stand. Her parents had taken pride in the clan’s abilities; Mikansei remembered that at least.
But now they were merely being used as another part to a weapon.
Because that’s all she was: a weapon.
It was why he had taken her in in the first place. Even at a young age she had been talented, and had fought back against the other missing nins who Tanju had brought with him. Though they had died, Tanju hadn’t cared now that he’d found the perfect weapon to mould to his needs. He had skills enough to pick out the selective traits he wanted and plant them into her body, making her indestructible and immortal. With Mikansei as his puppet, there wouldn’t be anything he couldn’t do to the world. And so the torture had started.
Tanju created a lab for himself in a secluded area of the Land of Fire, basing himself there for the work he was to be carrying out on Mikansei. He had known from the start it would take a large portion of her lifetime, but with the power he could instil in her...it would definitely be worth it in the end. Taking the strongest metals that existed, combining chakra and physical tools to get the desired effect, he melded metal to her skeleton and arteries and veins that were attached to her vital organs, bit by bit.
But he had made it so that the metal exerted chakra into Mikansei’s body even after the procedure was over, and fully ignited her immortality into another level altogether. Tanju went back and forth between the torso, head and the rest of the body, knowing places such as around the heart and brain would take a lot longer than places such as the legs. But slowly, piece by piece, she became significantly stronger. Her endurance increased enormously as well as her speed, as he united the internal changes with those experienced with outdoors training.
Sleep became nothing but a hindrance, along with other bodily functions that were a necessity in others. Once she was finished, she’d be perfect. The ultimate weapon. And with how he had spoken of her parents before, mentioning them and wearing down her confidence...there was no way she’d have the courage to escape. He didn’t even need to bother anymore—she was much too under his control to do a thing to fight back.
And now it got to the point where all that needed to be done was Mikansei’s arms. Facing her in his little ‘lab’, she stood a few metres away, staring dead ahead of her with no expression on her face or in her eyes. Smirking maliciously at that fact, he purred cruelly,
“Almost done, Mikansei-kun. Once I’ve completed you, there won’t be anyone you can’t defeat. Nothing can kill you. Nothing can harm you.”
Stepping forward now, he ran his fingers up the back of her legs, sliding over the curve of her ass and up towards her torso. Tensing in shock and fear, Mikansei could do nothing as he continued to run his hands over her body. He had never done anything like this before; yeah, he’d beaten her and punished her when she’d done things wrong, but this...she hadn’t a clue how to react. All she knew was that she didn’t like it.
“Once you’re done...you’ll be all. Mine.”
Accompanying this statement, Tanju began to slide a finger round the rim of her pants, the other hand sliding up underneath her top and towards her bra. Images flashed before her eyes of things she had thought she had forgotten, or things she hadn’t even been sure she had remembered in the first place. Her fists clenched tighter as she bit her lip, closing her eyes to get rid of the images; only to find they became even stronger now there was nothing else to hide them.
Her mother stood through the doorway in front of her, though she was hidden in the shadows in the other room. Tanju was touching Mikansei’s mother in the same way he was touching her now. Things hadn’t changed one bit from when he had killed her parents to now as he went on making her into a perfect weapon. It didn’t matter who was in front of him; if it was something he wanted, he was going to take it. But it couldn’t be like that. Fear was all that filled her body now; taking her right back to when her parents had been killed; panicking her until she felt her chakra reacting as a way to protect her.
But with this power running through her veins she realised something. It wasn’t fear she should be feeling; it was anger. He had taken everything away from her, and she had remained in this state for the entirety of her life. It had been when Tanju had done it to her mother that everything had changed, and it was about to do the same now. Opening her eyes once again to reveal the purple colour underneath, along with several tattoos that worked their way down her body, she did nothing as he continued to touch her.
Why would she need to, when he was dead a moment later?
