Y/N: Ya know? It's really quiet here today.
His comment echoed around the living room. Currently, a book from the Sanctum's library sat open in Y/N's lap while he reclined in his chair. It was now January, and one more month of training with Yen Sid and
Strange was under his belt, the latter of whom sat nearby with a cup of tea.Doctor Strange: Isn't it always? Doubt you could have a party with just you, Tony, and Pepper, given your proximity to other people.
Y/N: Something tells me don't underestimate Tony in the game of alcohol- Hold up, that's it!
Y/N closed the book and shot up from his seat. His feet carried him to the kitchen.
Doctor Strange: You've got a plan?
Y/N: I remember Mickey said parties were always held here, yet I haven't thrown one! Time to change that!
The cooler and downstairs cellar came stocked with a nice selection of liquor and wine. The fridge rotated its goods every day, allowing Y/N variety. Pantry had plenty of stuff and more.
And there was always Pop-Tarts. Always.
Doctor Strange: I guess Wong and I will be expecting an invitation.
Y/N: Next Friday, let's say, 2?
Strange stood from the chair and faced his student.
Doctor Strange: Seems you forgot what that day is.
A few seconds ticked by before Y/N closed the fridge door and sighed.
Y/N: Right. First level of fire mastery class.
Doctor Strange: It is amazing how quick you're adapting, but make sure your memory doesn't slip. Rapunzel's still holding your Christmas Eve tardiness against you.
Y/N: And she'll continue to, I'm sure. Don't worry, Master Strange. I've got this.
With a snap of his fingers, the nearby candles flickered to life with a small flame dancing on their wicks. A quick jab at the fireplace and the logs inside ignited, then promptly extinguished. Y/N drew that fire towards him and concentrated it into a small fireball, then took to juggling it back and forth in his hands.
Y/N: See? It's in the bag!
The older sorcerer just shrugged and nodded in response.
Doctor Strange: Wonder how often that's been said and met.
The fire ball vanished before Y/N folded his arms.
Y/N: You doubt me? The "Hero of The Star?"
Doctor Strange: Reminder that said "hero" is still a student learning from the Sorcerer Supreme.
And with that, Strange summoned a doorway elsewhere. Y/N decided to prod a bit.
Y/N: Any advice, Doc?
Doctor Strange: Class might take a while. Have your party at night.
Strange gave his student a nod and stepped through the portal.
Y/N: Yeah, real helpful.
Y/N blew out a sigh just thinking of the upcoming class. It was his first one, well, ever, and that left him wondering.
What if I fail? A lot was- is riding on me, and this is just step one.
Y/N: Hey, this is what I asked for, right?
But, am I really cut out for this?
Y/N: ....Well, maybe I can throw a little something tonight. I'm free, with friends I want to be around. And as of now? Need to get that thought out of my head.
