Arendelle was a pretty sight during the spring thaw. Icicles dripped onto the brick streets. Buds started to appear on tree branches. Ariel tried to laugh with glee, but was reminded of her lack to do so. Ella took notice and gently squeezed her shoulder.
Ella: Don't worry, dear. We'll fix this.
Ariel wrote down a reply in her journal, then the voice read aloud:
Ariel: I hope so. Thanks for inviting me, Ella.
Ella: Of course! Anything to help take your mind off.
Rapunzel: Who knows? Maybe you'll have fun here!
A soldier stood at the opened castle gates. He was dressed in his usual military garb: a green coat, adorned with various ribbons on the left chest, his pants colored a darker shade that were bloused just above high polished combat boots. He nodded to the group as they approached.

Y/N: Likewise, General Mattias.
The two shook hands. The general, and captain of the guard to Anna, bowed to Rapunzel as she walked up. He chuckled as she threw her arms around him in a warm hug.
Y/N: Is Anna nearby? She said she wanted to-
Anna: Right here!
The sorcerer jumped from the queen's sudden appearance.
Y/N: Scaring me is a new pastime for you, isn't it?
Anna couldn't help but giggle in amusement. She then ran over and embraced both Ella and Rapunzel. As for Ariel, she went with a more subdued approach.
Anna: Hi! I'm Anna Árnadalr, Queen of Arendelle. And, you are?
Ariel: My name's Ariel. It's nice to meet you.
Her journal read her greeting aloud, which admittedly freaked out Anna a bit.
Anna: Did her book just talk?
Y/N: She, uh, can't talk, right now anyways. That helps her to.
Anna: Oh?
He shrugged in response.
Y/N: It's a long story. Maybe one I can tell while we catch up?
Anna: Sure! Come in and let's talk shop! Hope you guys like hot chocolate.

After having her drink, Rapunzel felt a sudden urge (sugar rush) to explore the castle, something not done in a long time. She ran off with Ella and Ariel. That left Y/N and Anna by themselves.
