(June's p.o.v)
"Ms. Bonds you don't unders-,".
I was interrupted by Ms. Bonds yelling at me through the phone.
"MAY YOU DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH TO GET YOU THESE JOBS!".
I rubbed my hand tiredly over my face before glancing up at Sean who was dancing crazily to an old time song. I giggled softly at the sight, slightly tuning Ms. Bonds out.
"JUNE I DON'T SEE WHAT'S FUNNY! YOU NEED TO GO BACK AND APOLOGIZE TO THE PRINCIPAL AND GET YOUR JOB BACK!".
"I'm sorry Ms. Bonds but I can't do that,".
Sean came and sat beside me, sneakily sliding his arm in between us to grab the phone. He pressed his ear to the phone.
"Ayy Ms. Bonds, listen Ima find her a job. But look she gon call you back later,"
And then he hung up. I smirked at Sean while he handed me a glass of wine. Then he stood up again, walking towards my display of CDs I had stacked in the corner of my room. He touched them while he sipped from his wine glass.
"Who was that kid you was with when I came to pick you up?".
I stared at the back of Sean's head as he touched my CD's. Then he abruptly turned around, revealing the serious look on his face. He looked uncomfortable and a little angry at the same time. He took another sip of his wine and so did I.
"Oh, August?".
"That's his name? Why he was looking at you like that when I came to get you?".
I laughed nervously. "Like what?".
"Well when I came to pick you up he was staring at you like he was looking into your soul. And you was staring at him too. It kinda looked like ya was in a trance or some shit, that's why I beeped my horn. It looked weird. I just wanted to know who he was,".
"Oh- oh no he was just helping me with my boxes. That's it," I responded.
"Oh. Ain't that the same kid that was unconscious, and you took him to your apartment?". Sean raised an eyebrow at me.
I sucked my teeth as I stood up and walked into the kitchen, and just like I had expected, Sean was trailing behind me.
"Yeah why?".
Sean laughed as he grabbed my waist from behind and snuggled his face into the crook of my neck.
"I was just observing babe. I think he likes you,".
I pulled away from Sean, facing him.
"Sean do you hear how ridiculous you sound right now. You must be drunk,".
"Off of Chardonnay? I ain't drunk June. I'm just calling it how I see it,".
I rolled my eyes before placing my wine glass on the kitchen table.
"So what do you think Sean? I'm screwing my student?" I asked angrily.
Sean laughed before guzzling the last remainder of his wine. "Nah, I ain't think nothing like that,".
"Whatever, I'm going to bed soon. You can let yourself out,".
Sean rushed towards me, gripping my waist tight then burying his face in my neck again.
"Come on June don't be like that. I'm sorry. I won't bring up nothing about the January kid anymore,".
"It's August," I mumbled.
Sean smirked before stepping back to look at me.
"We need music, music always lightens the mood,". He quickly jogged back into my room. I sighed before following behind him.
"No Sean, I'm getting tired you need to go ri-,".
A smile instantly graced my face as the familiar beat played lightly.
"Get up get up get up
Ooohh now let's get down tonight
Baby I'm hot just like an oven
I need some lovin' ......"Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing' was starting to play.
Sean did a little dance as he walked to me. I covered my mouth so that Sean couldn't see me laughing, but indeed he did which caused him to grab my hand. He twirled me around smoothly as we began to dance to the song until it ended. We both collapsed back on my bed, giggling like high school lovers.
Sean dug into his pocket, then pulled out a freshly wrapped blunt. He placed the blunt in between his lips before he shoved his hand back into his pocket to retrieve his lighter. He lit the end and exhaled the smoke from his lips.
It was silent for a couple moments.
"Sean,".
"Hmm," He hummed.
"I want a family," I whispered.
Sean faced me. "You drunk?".
I slapped Sean's shoulder. "I'm serious Sean, I don't have anything here. My family is in China. I just want a family of my own,".
"Well me and you, we family,".
"Sean that's not what I meant and you know that. I want a baby,".
"June," Sean sat up from my bed and stared ahead of him. "June babies take a lot of responsibility. I mean, I would know cuz I got three,".
"I know that Sean. I'm very responsible, I ju-,".
"June you might be a little tipsy. Ima head out, I'll call you later on tonight tho," Sean stood up and walked to the window, opening it, then plucked the blunt out the window. He turned to face me again.
"Aight?".
I continued to lay on my back, staring at the ceiling.
"June you heard me?".
"Goodnight Sean,".
Sean sucked his teeth before he swiftly made his way to the door, opened it and left, then he slammed the door so hard that for a couple seconds after he had left everything in my house rattled.
