"Man I say we just run up on that fool when he by his self and blow one in his skull, teach his boys not to mess with us!" Chris exclaimed joyfully as he grabbed the blunt from his boy Milo.
Milo was one of Chris' friends and working partner. I ain't know olé dude, but he seemed cool. My boy Chris messed with him, so i knew he was real. My boy Chris ain't mess with too many people. In these streets you can't trust too many people. It's the survival of the fittest around here. People will kill you to get to the top. That's just how it was, and that's how it would always be.
Milo was a little darker than Chris, with blue hair and gang tattoos on his face. He was built, way more built than me and Chris.
"Nah that would be stupid," Milo disagreed. "If we roll up on him we gon have to roll up on his boys. They always with him,".
"Then that means we gon have to take them all out," Another one of Chris' boys retorted. His name was Pipe.
He was a scary looking dude. Cross eyed and crooked teeth, and big arms. I didn't know him and to be quite honest I didn't want to get to know him. I heard they called him pipe because he had beat a man to death with a pipe, but others say the woman call him pipe because he packing down there. Either way, I ain't mess with him.
"I heard he live on Oakwood lane?" Chris spoke out.
"Yeah, that white neighborhood. Heard that nigga forgot he black," Milo joked.
"So I say we run up on him tonight, fifty thousand dollars. Easy money," Pipe smirked.
"Sounds like a plan to me," Chris commented. "You down August?".
I stared at him like he was stupid or something.
"Mane I tol' ya I ain't down wit dat," I hissed.
"Lemme talk to you in the back," Chris said as he stood up, walking into a room in the back. I followed him.
"August do you know that you just turned down easy money?".
"Chris I tol' ya I ain't getting down like dat. I ain't tryna go ta jail and have dem put ma little sister in some foster home,".
"August we not gonna go to jail, we did this plenty of times. We never get caught. And the money is quick and easy,".
"Mane ya ain't gon get me ta do it. I already tol' ya,".
"I saw your sister walking to school this morning, August her clothes was draping off her body, her sneakers got so many holes in them, and when I offered her something to eat she nodded her head so many times I thought it was gon fall off......All I'm saying is you need this money bad. And tryna make it the Good way ain't doing nothing for you," Chris explained. "You know you like a brother to me and I care about you and your sister. I know what it's like to grow up without a father. I know what it's like to struggle. I know how it is August. All I'm saying is you can make ten grand tonight if you do this with us. Just one time,".

Sweat trickled down my forehead as I waited for Chris, Milo, and Pipe to come out the front door. They said they would be out in ten minutes. They went inside at 9:50, it was 10:05 now. Every few seconds I glanced at my watch then at the door. I was nervous. Very nervous. I clutched the steering wheel tighter. I looked up one last time, if I didn't see them I was going to drive off. I wasn't a pussy but I ain't wanna go to jail either. Then, I saw them. Running swiftly towards the car. As soon as they got into the car they began to chatter loudly. I stepped on the gas, driving away from the house.
"Man did you see the look on those fools faces?" Chris shouted as a grin spread across his face.
"Yeah man, especially Joey. He looked like he had seen a ghost," Pipe chimed in.
