Chapter 15. Humans are meant to help Humans

Josh was sitting in the library. He was waiting for Drake to come back from his shift. It had been two days since Kate had mentioned the letters and Josh had still not made his mind to open them. He needed to solve the matter at hand first.

"Heyy sweetie," Drake said breaking his reverie.

"Seriously?" he asked raising his eyebrow.

"What? You looked really sweet and now you don't," Drake said.

"Ughh... leave it. I wanted to talk to you and it's really important so, please no comments when I speak," he said sitting up straight.

"Ohh. I'll try my best," Drake said mocking him.

"Okay. So you know how Kate was upset and you were gone to your uncle's place..." Josh told him all that had happened in the three days when he was not here. It turned out that Drake was not surprised at all.

"Yeah well, she was gonna tell you... she didn't say so but I know her well. She trusts you enough to let you in. And I trust you to know that you won't break our trust. You know I don't just say things to tease you guys... I make you see that you can trust each other, that you can be the missing pieces of each other. Seriously, it's not always the fun thing... though it is to watch your faces," Drake said.

"Whoaa... don't go on that track right now. What I wanted to say is that, we need to talk to Doug. I don't want him to approach her again... she's not in that place. And Doug can get what he wants in any possible way. So... are you gonna come with me. I can handle him well but, you know, it's better if you come," he said.

"I know, I know. We'll go."

"Great. So c'mon, let's get going."

"What? Now? I've not eaten anything man, first we'll go and eat somewhere and then we'll talk to this Doug guy of yours," Drake said.

"Yeah okay," Josh said rolling his eyes.

"Heyy... you can't do that... stop spending time with herr... now you both roll your eyes at me, that's not fair," Drake said.

"What the hell man... she tells me not to spend time with you. You're telling me not to spend time with her. I gues Doug is better company than you guys... atleast he doesn't speak to me," Josh said.

"C'mon now, don't get madd... I'm the best, you should ignore what she tells you. And whom do you talk to for hours and enjoy?? Me or her?" he asked.

"Umm..."

"Don't tell me that you talk with Kate for hours like we do... it's supposed to be our thing."

"Not anymore I guess. You wanted to eat something right? C'mon let's goo... we're getting late. There's this place round the corner where they serve the best pizza... I'll pay, c'mon movee," Josh said pushing Drake out of the library.

Drake seemed to forget everything when he heard the word pizza. They both went to the pizza place and ate four whole pizzas... growing boys need to eat a lot.
They headed to Josh's apartment after that.

When they reached, Doug was asleep on the couch with a beer bottle in his hand and few littered around the table. Well, not the perfect time to talk to the bully, Josh thought.

"We'll talk to him later bro. I guess this is not the nicest time," he whispered to Drake.

But Drake was already standing in front of Doug and waking him up.

"Who the hell are you? What do ya want now??? I don't have anything and I can't do anything..."

"Doug, this is Drake, my friend. We need to talk to you," Josh said shooting a glare at Drake for waking him up.
