Chapter 37: Sammy

Josh's pov:

As I was walking back to my apartment, I saw Ethan walking towards me. I really didn't want to talk with him right now... I was already too sleepy and worried about Sammy and also a bit about Ash and I still have to plan my date with Kate.

"Josh. Thank god... can we please talk?"

"I told you I'll talk to you later Ethan."

"Just a few minutes, I promise."

"Fine... we'll talk at home," I said walking ahead.

"No... not there... Drake must be there."

"I am very tired Ethan; I have not even brushed my teeth and I have lot of work today. So, if you wanna talk, it's gonna be either right now as we walk or when we are home."

"Okay. I'm sorry... I just wanted to explain. I'll see you later if you don't wanna talk... I'm sorry."

"Yeah okay," I said as I continued to walk not caring if he was following or not. Honestly, I did want to hear him out but no one, not even him gets away with making my Ashy cry. I don't know if I was doing the right thing but I was still mad with him and I wanted him to know that.

I reached the apartment to see Doug and Drake cuddling on the couch with Drake still asleep and Doug playing with his hair.

"You guys look so cutee," I whispered softly not wanting Drake to wake up. Doug smiled looking down at Drake before getting up and picking him up easily in his arms.

"I'll put him in bed... you want some coffee?"

"Some tea... if you are making."

"Tea it is," he said as he carried Drake to his room and I went towards mine.

I decided to shower as I was not planning on sleeping again. I'd to go and collect a bunch of notes from my classmate who'd agreed to take them for me while I was away... after that I was gonna drop by at Ash's to check on him and ask him to help me plan the date. I took a quick hot shower and changed into warm clothes before heading out to the kitchen with my headphones around my neck.

"So... how did it go?"

"How did what go?"

"You asked Kate out, right?"

"Oh, right. Yeah... we met kinda late at night and she had bought pizza for me and I blurted out I loved her a lot and then I actually recited the speech I'd prepared and then I was blabbering shit when she shut me up by kissing me and then we fell asleep on the cliff and then Sammy had eaten the pizza so we both were worried and I hope he's alright... my poor baby."

"Wow... I don't know what to say. Here, drink some tea," he said handing me my cup of tea.

"Yeah, I know," I said sighing.

"Why the sigh?"

"I... do you have time? I need some advice."

"Sure... anything for you bro."

"Thanks... are you willing to leave Drake and walk with me to my college?"

"I'm never gonna leave Drakey!"

"For an hour... right now."

"You should talk clearly man..."

"Are you coming?"

"Yeah sure... let me just write him a note for when he gets up. He'll kill me if he thinks I left him alone to wake up."

"Seriously?"
