XVI - Thirty Second Night

Cold breeze hit there almost naked bodies, as they; Shitsumei and Dabi, used each other as a heating bag, holding each other a little too tightly, as Dabi covered them with his leather black jacket, and Yuri was on top of them, snuggling close.

last night after they entered the city ( by a miracle ), the league stopped in front of an abandoned building somewhere far from the crowd, somewhere where even crickets chose to stay silent.

sleep didn't visit Shitsumei's mind like it's used to do, instead her mind was flooded with thoughts that kept piling up, every time it starts to get a little too quiet; her body shivers, and the feeling of being stuck embrace her; almost choking her.

for the first time in a while, she felt like she couldn't tell Dabi about what she really saw, not because he wouldn't believe her, not because he might not listen, but because he would listen so closely; too close than what she wants.

he will hear the tremble in her voice, he will see her face turning pale, her nails breaking under her teeth, he will understand what she herself doesn't want to acknowledge.

with that, Shitsumei suddenly jumped-awake, waking Dabi immediately after, " god, is something wrong ? " he mumbled as he rubbed his eyes, his concern raising more and more the longer she took to answer, " hey...pumpkin ? "; she gasped as she jumped off the bed, Dabi ran to her as fast as he can so she won't wake everyone up.

" what the hell is going on with you ? " he said under his breath as he covered her mouth, feeling how dry her lips were; how fast her breathing was, " was it a nightmare of some sort ? " he questioned once he puzzled everything together.

her hand reached his as she pulled his hand off her mouth, " yeah, sorry " she whispered, but she knew it wasn't only a nightmare, that it was more a reality, a reality that she created.

but she sucked up, shoved it down her throat; hoping that it would disappear, that it would blend with the nothing she sees, and it itself would turn into nothing.

Dabi put his hands on her shoulders, relaxing them as they almost reached her ears, " it's okay Shitsumei, I'm here; I'll keep you safe " he whispered into her ear, and although her heart would usually flutter with such cheesy words, such words could get her so high she would reach cloud 9, yet they felt like being thrown under a bus.

without a word, she walked back to the bed; climbing into it, curled to her side of the bed and left him standing there.

a trace of thoughts started running in Touya's head, did I do something ? he asked himself, then immediately brushed it away, not wanting to look like an idiot just standing there.

he climbed next to her on the bed, turning to his side as he tried to not take her space.

maybe she's on her period or something, was Dabi's last thought as he fell back into a deep peaceful sleep.

when the sun finally decided to roll up in the sky, it was cold, but it wasn't the weather that was cold, it wasn't the wind that brushed against Dabi's scar; and made his wide eyes go dry, it was something inside of him, something that is always burning.

Touya stormed off the bed, in seconds his hands were on Shigaraki's thin shirt, " where is she ?! " he screamed; watching his spit cover all of the dry guy's face.

" now now Romeo " Shigaraki cleaned the spit off his face with his wrist, and with a smirk on his face he tilted his head with a wicked look " I didn't take her nowhere, your Julit just left " he chuckled.

the scarred man felt his hands starting to heat up, but then he realized; it wasn't his hands, his whole body was burning, but inside was still cold; almost freezing.

Shigaraki wrapped his thumb and index finger around Dabi's wrist; pulling his arms away from his neck, " she probably finally realized her mistake ! a girl from one of the richest families in all of Japan running away with the pettiest, dirtiest man on earth ? what a fairly tale " he laughed at the end of his speech; like he just said the funniest joke ever known to men kind.

he turned back to Dabi; who now had dead dark eyes, " but it's time to wake up Dabi~ " he sang, Shigaraki danced around the empty room, " I always wondered how did you get a girl like her to follow you, how many empty lies did you feed her ? how many broken promises did you give ? ".

" you better shut up Shigaraki " Dabi said in a low voice, the other man turned to face him with a wide smile " am I getting you mad fire man ? truth hurt much ? " he swung from side to side.

finally stopping right behind Dabi, whispering to his ear " come on Dabi, I know you don't really love her, tell me what is her purpose ? her money ? someone in her family ? her quirk doesn't seem that powerful, so what is it ? " he paused for a second before he chuckled like he solved a puzzle " it's her body isn't it ? is this you thing ? younger girls ? ".

with that half the place was burned, " you fucker ! " Shigaraki screeched as he hugged his first degree burned hand, " YOU KNOW NOTHING " Dabi screamed as his body got swallowed with blue flames, " WHERE IS SHE ? " he hit a wall; immediately turning it to ash.

and finally; Shigaraki's smiled seemed to fade, " so you really like her... " he chuckled one last time, " of course you would, a walking mess like you needs someone to keep it together ", " if you don't shut you mouth.. " Dabi get interrupted as he stepped closer, " you'll what ? burn the place even more ? ".

the fire on Touya's body dimmed as a weird feeling caught him off guard, Shigaraki tsked as he looked down, " I decided to agree on working with overhaul ".

the place seemed to burn faster and faster by the second, Shigaraki walked towards the door slowly, " he asked me to give him a couple of people from the league, so I gave him Toga and Twice " he paused when he reached the door, " he said he wanted the blind girl herself; or he wouldn't work with us ".

Shigaraki rested his back on the door, facing Touya, who didn't flinch an inch from the fire that is now burning his clothes, " don't worry, I didn't force her or anything, I asked her; and she immediately agreed, I was surprised to be honest " he turned his head, " she's with him, if you can't live a second without her, then here " he threw what looked like a tracking device.

Dabi ran to reach the device before it also burned, and last thing he heard was Shigaraki's faded voice as he left " goodbye for now, Dabi ".
