Chapter 14

(3rd pov)

Troubled. Illumi was troubled by his own actions. When had he ever made a mission into a game before? He only ever did that with Killua and that was always in secret, the last time he did it was when Killua had turned 9. Their father found out what Illumi had been doing and he got severely punished for it. Of course, Illumi never told Killua why he suddenly stopped making their missions fun but rather more intense and harsh.

Illumi doesn't remember the rest though, his father made sure to get him to forget.

Discarding his thoughts illumi noticed another one of his targets, this one was a girl. Illumi made his way to her and spoke.

"Hey, are you from around here?" He tried his best flirty voice and the girl gave him a small smirk.

"Are you?" She lowly said back to him. Illumi shook his head and looked to the side.

"I'm not, I was hoping maybe you could show me around." Illumi offered the girl a small smile and he noticed how she had a glint of mischief in her eyes.

The lady called out to her pals who were around and 4 strong men came from the shadows. Each of them wearing a single earring on the left side of their ear.

"I hope you don't mind me bringing my friends." She winked at illumi and he simply shook his head.

"No worries."

Arisu wasn't having much luck finding anyone. She had seen people with earrings but none that had a logo carved Into it. She was going up against not only an assassin but her master. Arisu knew this was a test of some sort. Maybe she can try to search for strong auras, illumi had mentioned one could sense strong auras. But could one look for them?

She didn't know but she gave it a try nonetheless. Expanding her aura she tried to feel other people. To her surprise, she did feel very strong auras around and she followed one of the closest, turning a corner she saw a little kid with a man. Looking closely arisu noticed that the man had an earring similar to the one she had to look out for.

Making her way to where he was she stood next to him and looked at the little kid next to her. He seemed scared as if he were begging her for her help with his eyes. Arisu noticed that The man was holding a little figurine and she decided to start a conversation with him.

"Are you getting those for your son?" She asked him. The man looked over at her and she noticed how he had two different colored eyes.

"oh, yeah, this little guy has been a good boy so I brought him out to get a treat." He told her and looked away. He began walking away and Arisu watched as he left. Once they were a good distance from her she decided to follow him and kill him once he was off guard.
During her follow she noticed she was getting into new territory and this time there were people with these earrings everywhere. It was rather suspicious to her that none of them looked intimidating or like the pictures in the files.
Could they know that an assassin is after them? There's little to no way, but its better to be safe, thought arisu. She stopped her persuit and decided to go into the woods where she proceeded to exit from the other side. For some reason she was worried for Illumi, she knew he was a professional but these people don't seem to take anything lightly.
One man vs hundreds? That doesn't seem very promising to her. She reaches into her pocket and took out a hammer she had been carrying around. She picked it up from the ground after she parted ways with Illumi, she figured that she needed a weapon.
As she was about to exit the forest her face made contact with a fist. Flying back she hit a tree and slid down grunting in pain. Looking up she saw the same man she was following. The kid he was with was tied down and squirming around.
Standing up as quickly as she could she picked up her hammer and waited for him to make contact with her again. She knew few fatal parts on the human body, one being the neck. The man watched as Arisu struggled to stand up and he chuckled to himself. Of course she wasn't a threat, she was probably some ordinary civilian trying to play hero, the man thought.
Allowing a smirk to play on his face he walked up to her and bent down to crush her with his bear hands. Once he was close enough arisu managed to leave before he managed to grab her. Grabbing the hammer she let it fall on his neck with as much force and speed she could muster.
Hearing his grunt and a crack he fell on his face. She wondered if she hit the exact spot or if he was just hurt, either way she continued crushing him until she saw blood gush out of his back. Landing one final blow on his head she wiped blood off of her hands and dragged the body behind a tree and hid it.
Dusting herself off she looked up at the kid who was staring at her with fear and gratitude in his eyes. Smiling to herself she helped the kid up. What was she supposed to do with him?

"Hi" she bent down and spoke to him. "Do you have any family around here?" Arisu asked the little one. He shook his head at her and spoke.

"Thank you," she noticed tears welding up in his eyes and Arisu nodded.

"Well, you're safe now." She reached to touch him but she noticed him flinch so she retreated her hand. "How about this. I'll buy you some food and then take you to a hotel where I'll go pick you back up once I'm finished with buisness?"

"Are you gonna go kill the rest of the mean people?" He asked her with hope in his eyes. Arisu nodded and he smiled up at her.
She put on her jacket and began leading the little boy out of the woods.

Illumi was almost done killing his targets, he had 20 down, well that isn't almost but it is good enough. It's not like they were bold enough to walk around in plain day. He wondered if arisu at least had one, or if she was dead.

He would be content with either. This was a test after all, he decided that just now. If she didn't manage to kill at least 5 then he wouldn't see a reason to keep her around.

Moving his hair back he picked it back up to redo it into a bun. He barley got a scratch on him but his hair took a lot of damage.

A/n: SOOO.. how are yall doing? Also i went back to my old account and read my story (that blew up for some reason) and omg my 13 year old depressed ass self wrote some cringe ass shit 😫 I am embarrassed to even claim that story and people are still reading it too (its a Noah schnapp fanfic bye- )
