naoya zen'in
Naoya wanted to put his hand on her shoulder, to comfort her, somehow. He didn't know how. Although it seemed easy, his hand wouldn't move, he didn't want to interrupt whatever she was feeling right now.
Before he swayed, Kayo slowly stood up, wiping her tears, while turning around at the taller male behind her. She didn't look too sad because of that small smile on her face. "Are you fine?" Was the only thing coming out of his mouth. She didn't reply, she just slid his arms under his and hugged him.
"I don't know what to do Naoya. The only time I've been this confused, was when my parents died. Because of me..." Tears were again rolling down her face. "Why are people always dying because of me. Why don't I just die and let others live in peace?"
He didn't know what to do. He had seen her like this before. When she found out that Toji was supposed to get killed. But seeing Kayo with strong emotions was different, it was strange. Unusual. He just put his head on hers and spoke, "People die, Kayo. This time, it was my cousin." She widened her eyes at the sudden use of her first name and smiled.
"I am sorry." He started. "For everything I've done. For everything I will probably do. I've been born into this and I was never strong enough to get out of this like Toji did. I envied him, but I'll miss him. He meant more for me than he'd think he did. I'll miss him."
Staying silent for a while, Kayo decided on what to do. She got out of his arms and stood in front of the white haired, "He wanted me to let go Noaya. I'm going to do that."
She bowed down. "You know, he broke his promise. He promised me to not die but he did. I am not like him. I do not break my promises and I won't break this one, I swear. I know this thing, whatever your father had planned, I am sorry but I can't marry you, not right now. As I said, I don't break my promises, I will come back for this. Some day. But first, I will be fulfilling his death wish." She looked at Toji's body and swallowed, I already miss him.
"If you somehow get this arranged with my father, I am more than just happy." "Yeah, marrying me would've been the worst." "It would." "Wow, how nice." She rolled her eyes and tried to ignore the dead body. The assistants in Jujutsu Tech would take care of him, right? "You know, you can switch from nice to toxic real quick, Naoya." "As if I care." He just rolled his eyes and made his way to the students, realizing that Kayo wasn't following.
"Something wrong?" "I am going. Give this to Shoko." She gave him a letter. A letter she had written today, the day she decided what she wanted. She already decided to go, she knew that Shoko could do well alone, she knew she would understand, she always did. She is the type of person to support you through anything, because deep down, you were still the same person.
What Kayo chose was vanishing. She of course talked to Noabito Zen'in about this. If she hadn't, who knows if she had ever gotten peace?
"Sayonara, Zen'in Naoya. I'll come back, I promise."
With a last wave, her silhouette drowned in the darkness of the nearby forest.
