Recap: "May I ask why?"
At that question, the world stopped.
Present:
The whole table started wobbling, and so did the already crumbling floors. What was happening, why did it feel like my life was tearing down piece by piece. The dingy dusty ceiling fan started to twirl and shake. Was this..... an earthquake? The ground beneath me began to rattle, and the expression on everyones' face began to change from scared,to terrified, to' oh my god were about to die!' My mind went blank and I could tell Kalan's was about to fall out of his head. I finally realized that this was an earthquake or maybe even a tsunami.
"Everyone get out of the house now!" Mom went yelling aand tearing things out her pale pink drawers. She pulled out a few things from the drawer, then the last thing I saw was green, rolled up in a perfect bundle. It was a load of cash!
"Oh, so you had a back-up didn't you mom?" I raged. She had been hiding this from us? Why?
"Were in the middle of a disaster and th-" Before she could finish, a large gray building block fell from the crumbling cieling. It fell right in front of mom and I causing us to seperate from each other. "Mom!" I screamed terrified of losing her. Even though she could be a pain sometimes I still loved her.
"Yuri just go! I'll find you guys later...just trust me." I took off down the dingy yellow hallway dodging the debris already falling the from floor above. I made sight of the exit door, but before I left I yelled to make sure if anyone was still inside. "Hello! is anyone still in here?" I waited ten more seconds just to make sure, then I left apartment C16 without any memories except bad. I was happy to be out its just ,I did not expect it to end like this. When I reached the outdoors I searched around for Anilo, Kalan, and mom. They were no where to be found. 'Thats okay Yuri' I thought to myself' they will turn up any minute now.
"Quick! Get cover before you are drowned in ash!" I turn to my mid-right to see a frightened Kalan Myeni. He was ducking under a rough looking mashed potato colored mattress. I raced over to the mattress and took cover. BOOM! SIZZLE! SIZZLE! Those were the sounds that alarmed my hearing sense. I tried not to cry, but I could feel spicy tears falling down my gray stained face from shock. My eyes caught a quick glimpse of other citizens. Some were making it, and others...well. My heart felt for those who had someone taking from them, knowing I be right along with them.
Kalan and I were under that foul smelling mattress for at least what felt like five hours, but were actually ten minutes. I could not see much from under this mattress, but I could sure hear. I kept hearing what sounded like a faint cry or yelp from a human being. I carefully looked around for someone.....when I saw them. They had long red wavy hair, with a pale face to match, but that was just the top i'm talking about. From the waist down everything was curvy. From swaying hips, to an average buttox, and pale vein showing legs that were showing from under her shorts. She was the most beautiful thing anyone could see, but with a snarky attitude. She was trying to climb the falling red stop sign.It was saying 'STOP Climbing me!!" Wow that girl was clueless. From that point, I knew my life was going to be pure hell. With rage I shouted her name"Rebecca!!!...."
